Idris Elba has probably been waiting for this question and he finally had to face it.

The 48-year-old actor was asked about his thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s recent interview with Oprah Winfrey during an appearance on The Today Show on Friday morning (April 2).

For those that don’t know, Idris was the DJ at Meghan and Harry‘s wedding reception. Also, he is good friends with Oprah!

Today‘s Hoda Kotb asked Idris if he had been in touch with the royal couple after the interview.

A royal biographer is revealing how Prince William would feel about his wife, Duchess Kate Middleton being brought up during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Oprah interview.

“William is very protective of Kate and can get very angry,” Penny Junor, a respected biographer for the brothers, told People.

She then added how William would feel, saying, “For Meghan to name Kate in a negative light is worse than being attacked himself.”

Meghan spoke about Duchess Kate two separate times. Once was to actually clarify a headline that came out about them years ago that suggested Meghan once made Kate cry before the 2018 royal wedding.

“The reverse happened. I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone. It was a hard week of the wedding. She was upset about something. She owned it. She apologized. She brought me flowers [and] a note apologizing,” Meghan said. “What was shocking was…six, seven months after our wedding…the reverse of that would be out there in the world. I would have never wanted that to come out about her.”

John Oliver was a guest on The Tonight Show this week where he spoke out about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s big interview with Oprah Winfrey.

He said the interview was “amazing,” while adding, “That is kind of what I felt like, sadly, her experience was going to be going in.” He grew up watching the royals “from a distance” in England.

He was then asked if anything shocked him, to which he responded, “The only thing that shocked me after was that Oprah, the next day, saying, ‘Harry wants to make clear it wasn’t Prince Philip being racist.’ Which made me think, ‘Really? Okay, that is actually surprising.’”

Gayle King has revealed some insider information about Prince Harry and his family after Oprah with Meghan and Harry, the bombshell interview given by the couple.

If you don’t know, Gayle is good friends with Oprah Winfrey, who conducted the interview with the pair.

On CBS This Morning, Gayle revealed, “Well, I’m not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling, and it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too. The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.”

“And I think what is still upsetting to them is the Palace keep saying they want to work it out privately, but yet, they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan, still,” she added.

“No one in the Royal Family has talked to Meghan yet, at this particular time. And I think it’s frustrating for them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the Royal Family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant,” Gayle added. “And until you can acknowledge that, I think it’s going to be hard to move forward. But they both want to move forward with this and they both want healing in this family. At the end of the day, that is Harry’s family.”

She said, “The bullying thing was raised in 2018 and now there’s an ongoing investigation about bullying from Meghan Markle, when anyone who has worked with her will tell you exactly who she is.”

“You know, she’s really a very sweet, caring person. And as I say, Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah’s interview. Everything,” she confirmed.

During the bombshell tell-all, Prince Harry indicated his relationship with his father was strained. He also spoke about the current state of his relationship with Prince William.

Many have questions after Meghan Markle‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey this past weekend.

“When I joined that family, that was the last time, until we came here, that I saw my passport, my driver’s license, my keys. All that gets turned over,” Meghan said, adding that she did not get her items back until she returned to the States.

Now, a royal historian is explaining the move by the Palace to those that have questions.

“Meghan had to hand in her driving license under security rules,” Robert Lacey, a historian, confirmed to the BBC. “If she went out driving on her own, she would not be protected.”

Robert Finch, chairman of The Monarchist League of Canada, added that “one assumes that royals’ valuable personal documents are kept in a safe or safes — under the eye of the overall palace security.”

“Sounds as if it fitted Meghan’s narrative of being trapped and isolated, but [that] really was routine,” he added. “Probably anything would be accessible to her if she wanted it.”

The pair met with teachers to discuss the re-opening of schools amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

During the tell-all, Meghan revealed that a member of the royal family expressed concern over the potential color of Archie‘s skin. It was later revealed which two royals did not make that comment.

Duchess Kate was also mentioned in the interview and Meghan actually clarified a big headline about the pair.

Following the 39-year-old Duchess’ explosive interview with Oprah, the 39-year-old entertainer took to her website to send a message of support to Meghan.

“Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership,” Beyonce wrote. “We are all strengthened and inspired by you.”

Along with the message, Beyonce also shared a photo from when she met Meghan at the European premiere of The Lion King in 2019 in London.
