Peter Farrelly Apologizes for Exposing Himself to Cameron Diaz

Green Book director Peter Farrelly has issued a statement after an article published this week pointed out numerous press clippings of stories about him flashing actress Cameron Diaz back in the 90s.

“True. I was an idiot,” Peter said in a statement (via People) just days after his movie won Best Picture – Comedy at the 2019 Golden Globes. “I did this decades ago and I thought I was being funny and the truth is I’m embarrassed and it makes me cringe now. I’m deeply sorry.”

Cameron has previously spoken about the experience to The Times, saying “We were in a restaurant and Peter Farrelly showed me his penis. That was enough, really. He got a positive response. That was all he needed to know. That was fine by me.”

Peter directed Cameron in 1998′s There’s Something About Mary, and also directed movies including Dumb and Dumber and Shallow Hal.
