Dominic Purcell has suffered a broken nose and an injury to his head after an accident on the set of the Prison Break revival series in Morocco.
A set piece was dislodged and fell on the 46-year-old actor’s head while filming on Monday (May 30), but production will not be delayed due to the set back.
“Had a little accident on set,” Dominic captioned a photo of his injured face on Instagram. “Pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your head!! busting it open severely also broke my nose in two places. Haha. I got a free nose job out of it…… Stoked to be alive. All good. #chill. Oh. I didn’t get knocked out took a knee. Ha!! Doc said I have an unusually tough tissue fiber that’s what saved me apparently. Thank god for my #Viking heritage hahaha!!!!”
“Our friend and colleague Dominic Purcell was injured earlier this week during the filming of our event series Prison Break, and was flown to a medical facility where he received treatment,” a spokesman for 20th Century Fox television said in a statement to Deadline. “We are happy to report that he is in great spirits and is expected to make a full recovery. He wanted us to express his appreciation to the fans around the world who have expressed their concern and support, and to reassure them that he will be back at work very soon.”

The actors were at the event to debut the trailer for the reboot of their beloved series Prison Break. Outside of the theater, the network had people dressed up in orange jumpsuits to promote the return of the show.
The original action drama centered on Michael Scofield (Miller), a young man determined to save his convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison. In the all-new event series, filmed on location in Morocco, clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and Sara (Callies), Michael’s wife until he was assumed dead, reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar), are pulled back into the action.
Amaury Nolasco has confirmed that he will reprise his role as Fernando Sucre on the upcoming Prison Break reboot on Fox.
The 45-year-old actor announced the news on his Instagram account on Tuesday (March 15).
“It’s Official !!! #Sucre is back with the gang ! Buckle up ! Looking forward to seeing my brothers again. #prisonbreak #blessed #lovemyjob #Sucre,” Amaury captioned a photo of the cast.
It’s really official – Prison Break is coming back.
While Fox ordered a pilot episode back in the summer, the network just announced that the revival has been ordered straight to series for nine new episodes, according to TVLine.com.
The cast is still being worked out, but original stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are confirmed to reprise their roles.
“The story unravels on an international landscape – it’s not a domestic [plot],” Fox co-chariman/CEO Dana Walden said. “We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story.”
Cast members Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper are in talks to to return as Sara and T-Bag. Filming is set to begin this spring.
In the meantime, you can catch Wentworth and Dominic starring together on The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
