Netflix Debuts Star-Studded Trailer for Ryan Murphy's 'The Prom' - Watch!

The Prom is coming!

The upcoming Ryan Murphy movie, which is heading to Netflix, debuted a trailer on Thursday (November 26).

The movie stars Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Keegan-Michael Key, Andrew Rannells, Jo Ellen Pellman, Ariana Debose, Tracey Ullman, Kevin Chamberlin, Mary Kay Place, Nico Greetham, Logan Riley, Nathaniel J. Potvin, Sofia Deler and Kerry Washington.

Here’s a plot summary: Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) are New York City stage stars with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers. Meanwhile, in small-town Indiana, high school student Emma Nolan (Pellman) is experiencing a very different kind of heartbreak: despite the support of the high school principal (Key), the head of the PTA (Washington) has banned her from attending the prom with her girlfriend, Alyssa (DeBose). When Dee Dee and Barry decide that Emma’s predicament is the perfect cause to help resurrect their public images, they hit the road with Angie (Kidman) and Trent (Rannells), another pair of cynical actors looking for a professional lift. But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.

The Prom is the film adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical, and hits select theaters in December and on Netflix on December 11.

Ryan Murphy has (jokingly) announced his new show!

The 54-year-old TV mogul, who has created award-winning shows like American Horror Story, Pose, and Glee, took to Twitter pitch his new show about the Trump family, now that they will be leaving the White House after Joe Biden won the election.

“I am thrilled to announce my new limited series JAIL. Every episode of this six-episode joy ride will feature members of the Trump crime family as one by one they are investigated, found guilty and then are forced to pay for their crimes against America and humanity in general,” Ryan tweeted.

Ryan also shared a mocked promotional photo with Donald Trump, Melania Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.

Richard Jenkins to Play Jeffrey Dahmer's Dad in Ryan Murphy's Next Netflix Series

Ryan Murphy has set up his next limited series at Netflix and he’ll be following the story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story “chronicles the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers, largely told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims, and dives deeply into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree,” according to Deadline.

Richard Jenkins has been cast in the series as Dahmer’s father Lionel, “a chemist, who showed him how to safely bleach and preserve animal bones when he was a child, a technique Jeffrey later gave a sinister twist with his victims.”

Ryan and co-creator Ian Brennan are currently looking for the right actor to play Dahmer. The lead female character will be Dahmer’s neighbor Glenda Cleveland, who tried to warn law enforcement about the killer’s behavior.

The pilot will be directed by Mindhunter‘s Carl Franklin and Pose‘s Janet Mock is on board to write and direct several episodes.
