Darren Criss won over hearts as Blaine Anderson on Glee.
The 35-year-old singer introduced himself as the leader of the Warblers, a glee club that McKinley High’s New Directions faced off against. However, he was impossible to dislike with his preppy style and love of a cappella Katy Perry covers.
It was even easier to like him when he switched teams and started dating Chris Colfer‘s Kurt Hummel.
As a matter of fact, Darren‘s character was so beloved that Glee creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed that he was pitched the idea to do a Warblers-themed spinoff.
“They really did want to do a Darren Criss – Dalton Warblers spinoff,” Ryan told Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz during an appearance on their podcast. “We were talking about doing a Warblers spinoff, but I said I didn’t have the bandwidth. I should’ve done it, actually. Looking back on it, what I wouldn’t kill to have done that show, because it would’ve been great.”
Darren revealed how much he knew about the offer during a recent appearance on the same podcast. Basically, he didn’t know much at all.
