Shangela is facing serious accusations.

In a new Rolling Stone report, the 42-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race breakthrough star is being accused of sexual assault by multiple people.

Four people allege to Rolling Stone that Shangela (Darius Jeremy “DJ” Pierce) either sexually assaulted them or attempted to have sex with them when they were too inebriated to consent, and a fifth person claims the drag star attempted anal penetration in a bathroom closet despite rejecting his advances.

Shangela is speaking out.

The 42-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race alum and Dancing With the Stars finalist is addressing multiple allegations brought forth by Daniel McGarrigle, a former assistant on his HBO show, We’re Here.

The lawsuit was filed against Shangela, legal name Darius Jeremy “DJ” Pierce and Buckingham Television, which employed the former assistant during Season 1 in 2019.

Some former Hairspray stars stepped out to check out the national tour’s opening night in Hollywood!

Ricki Lake, Maddie Baillio, and Garrett Clayton all walked the red carpet for the opening night celebration on Tuesday (May 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

For those who don’t know, Ricki played Tracy Turnblad in the original 1988 film version of Hairspray and Maddie played the role in NBC’s live production in 2016. Garrett played Link Larkin in the NBC production!

Other special guests at the opening night included Lance Bass, Frankie Grande, Bobby Berk, Jodie Sweetin, Dustin Milligan, Tess Holliday, Todrick Hall, James Charles, Ian Paget, Daniel Franzese, and Shangela.

We already knew that the “Dirrty” diva and Un Verano Sin Ti hitmaker were set to be recognized at the ceremony. Christina was awarded GLAAD’s Advocate for Change Award and Bad Bunny received the Vanguard Award.

Jennifer, who didn’t walk the red carpet, was a surprise appearance. She was honored with GLAAD’s Social Impact Award when she appeared onstage at the start of the show.

Charlize Theron, Issa Rae, and Margot Robbie were among the many stars who stepped out for The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast Gala!

Many stars walked the red carpet for the annual event on Wednesday morning (December 7) at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The annual breakfast coincided with the publication of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power 100 Women in Entertainment list, and celebrated the accomplishments of entertainment leaders and changemakers in Hollywood.

Charlize was honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award and Issa was recognized with the Equity in Entertainment Award.

Seth Rogen presented the award to Charlize and she said in her acceptance speech, “I take this leadership award less as a mark of accomplishment, but more as a challenge to keep doing the work. I want us to keep each other accountable, use each other as resources and push each other to keep using our voices and platforms for something greater than ourselves.”

Issa‘s Insecure co-star Yvonne Orji presented the award to her and said, “There are a few things you can bet that Issa Rae will always do…But what stands out most for me, is her unfailing support of the marginalized, her extreme selflessness, her dogged belief that everyone can win and people of color should have the same opportunity to fail and be given another chance at success—because that’s true equality.”
