Shantel VanSanten is known for a bunch of different TV roles, but she almost landed a big role in a 2010 movie!

The 35-year-old actress is opening up about a role that she auditioned for, but didn’t get.

“There’s been a lot, are you kidding me? I’ve been doing this for too long,” Shantel told Buzzfeed.

“So, Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried ended up doing it, but Dear John. I remember reading the script and being like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is the best movie ever.’ I went in and met with the director and it was only Amanda Seyfried, myself, and Jessica Biel,” she said.

Shantel continued, “I was like, ‘Why am I here?’ It was like they were like, ‘Let’s throw a regular person in the mix.’ I was convinced I wasn’t supposed to be there. I’m so fortunate that I’m a working actress, but obviously, their fame level had a little bit to do with me feeling quite out of place.”

Shantel is known for playing Quinn on One Tree Hill, Patty Spivot on The Flash, Julie Swagger on Shooter, Becca Butcher on The Boys, and most recently, Karen Baldwin on For All Mankind.

The season two finale of Amazon Prime Video’s smash-hit series The Boys is now streaming and there’s so much to recap from that explosive episode.

Throughout the second season, we followed Homelander (Antony Starr) and his relationship with the son (Cameron Crovetti) that he just learned exists, whose mother is Becca Butcher (Shantel VanSanten), aka the long-lost wife of The Boys leader Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).

Homelander also began a relationship with the Seven’s new member Stormfront (Aya Cash), who we later learned is a white supremacist from Nazi Germany and was the first successful Compound V subject a long time ago.

Starlight (Erin Moriarty) worked alongside The Boys and her boyfriend Hughie (Jack Quaid) to help take down Vought and they even have received some help from Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott).

Also, throughout the season, The Deep (Chace Crawford) and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) have been wrapped up in the Church of the Collective, which is essentially a satirical version of Scientology. They’ve been promised that if they reach higher levels in the church, they’ll get to return to the Seven.

Andie MacDowell has the support of her kids on her big day!

The 61-year-old actress was joined by Justin, 34, Rainey, 29, and Margaret Qualley, 25, at the 2020 Women Making History Awards on Sunday (March 8) at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Mindy has a guest starring role in the new series, which launches on November 1.
