Carson Daly and his wife Siri Pinter have been together for nearly 20 years and they’ve learned that one secret to a healthy relationship has been to sleep apart some nights.
The 50-year-old The Voice host is explaining why he sometimes sleeps in the guest bedroom instead of in bed with Siri, something he calls “sleep divorce.”

Carson Daly and wife Siri are enjoying being sleep divorced!
The 46-year-old Today show co-anchor shared in a new interview that the pair first began sleep divorcing – sleeping in separate bedrooms – last fall when Siri was pregnant with the couple’s fourth child.
“We’re both pretty good-sized humans and it just wasn’t really working when she was in her third trimester, and I also have sleep apnea, which is very sexy for the ladies out there, I’m sure,” Carson shared with People. “She couldn’t get comfortable, so we were like a commercial you would see, kicking each other and just not sleeping. We woke up and we just shook hands like, ‘I love you, but it’s time to sleep divorce. It’ll be the best thing for all of us.’”
Once Siri gave birth to daughter Goldie in March, Carson and his wife decided to continue being sleep divorced. The family temporarily moved from New York City to California so that Carson could wrap filming the latest season of The Voice, meaning his new wake up time for Today comes around 3am.
“I’m purposely not sleeping, obviously, with [Siri] and Goldie, because I don’t want to wake them up at 3 o’clock in the morning,” Carson explained. “We’re still sleep divorced, but for discernibly different reasons…I don’t know if we’ll ever sleep together again.”
Carson and Siri are parents to daughters Goldie, 3 months, London, 5½, and Etta, 7½, and son Jackson, 11.

The Today co-anchor called into the show on Friday (March 27) to discuss the exciting news that he and wife Siri welcomed their fourth child on Thursday (March 26).

“It’s great to be with you all. Goldie’s awesome…I wake up today just profoundly moved,” he said during the call.
“Watching Siri over the last 24 hours — not to mention during this pregnancy, but being 9 months pregnant at this time, you can just imagine the extra anxiety that has brought Her heroism…she’s a superstar, she’s a superhero. I wake up enamored by her.”
He also revealed the reason for his daughter’s name.
Patricia is an homage to his late mother, who died back in 2017.
“It would have been my mom’s birthday tomorrow, so that worked out to be quite nice,” he said.
As for Goldie, he said he was looking for Irish names after the results of his Ancestry DNA kit confirmed his “98 percent Irishness.”
“We had a shortlist of names that we liked but nothing was sitting its neck out. And I thought about it and I said, ‘You know, this is our fourth kid. She seems like a pot of gold at the end of our family rainbow. I told Siri, ‘What do you think about Goldie Patricia?’ And that was it. It was just one of those things, we knew.”

And her name is…Goldie Patricia Daly!

She was born at 4:08pm (ET) coming in at 8.2 lbs., & 20 inches long. Go Go and mom are doing great,” he wrote on Instagram.
“The Daly family wants to send a special shout out to the incredibly brave & selfless medical staff at our hospital in New York and also the many courageous people on the front lines of this dreadful virus. We thank God not only for the safe birth of our daughter, but for their tireless work attending to so many in need. It is a bittersweet event for us as we are extremely grateful, but also mindful of this unparalleled time in our history. We appreciate your well wishes and ask that you join us in praying for the many suffering around the world. God Bless you all,” he added.

Carson Daly has shared a bunch of new photos from his wedding to longtime love Siri Pinter!
The 42-year-old The Voice host appeared on The Today Show on Monday morning (December 28) as part of his hosting duties on the program and he opened up about the wedding.
“I wanted a hoverboard, I got a wife,” he joked about the Christmas week event.
Carson also said that he and Siri surprised their moms with the secret wedding and he is glad that their three children were able to experience it with them.
“It was great that the kids were a little bit older,” Carson said. “They actually knew what was going on.”

Carson and Siri have been a couple for ten years and they got engaged back in 2013. They have three children together – Jackson James, 6, Etta Jones, 3, and London Rose, 16 months. The couple met while Siri was working as a writer’s assistant on Last Call with Carson Daly.
