The end came with a celebration of the past few years of hard work in the form of the Tony Awards during the series finale of Smash on Sunday (May 26).
The series started off with the inception of the musical Bombshell based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. The second season introduced the original musical Hit List, which became Bombshell‘s competition as they both made their transitions to Broadway at the same time.
In the two hour season finale, we watched as the characters, played by Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing, Jeremy Jordan, and many others, watched the nominations for the Tony Awards be announced. In the second hour of the episode, the awards were handed out at a star-studded ceremony.
