Alden Ehrenreich stopped by the Solo: A Star Wars Story premiere held at Roppongi Hills on Tuesday (June 12) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 28-year-old actor was joined by director Ron Howard, Chewbacca, and a ton of fans who came decked out in Star Wars gear to cheer on the film!

Paul Bettany is opening up about how he got his role in the new movie Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The 46-year-old actor is a longtime friend of Ron Howard (after working with him on A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code) and he reached out to the filmmaker personally after he became the director of the movie.

“I texted him asking to be in it, and he said, ‘Let me see what I can do.’ And then he got back to me with a job. I was super thrilled when he came back and said, ‘Yeah, we’ve got something for you to do,’” Paul revealed in an interview with Uproxx.

“And that’s exactly how it happened. And, in fact, I texted him exactly this. [Pulls out phone] I said, ‘Hey, Ron, have you ever spent long winter evenings like I have wondering why I’m not in the Star Wars franchise?’” Paul added. “Then he texted me back, ‘LOL. Let me get back to you’… I was flying in two weeks. I was flying to London to start shooting.”

Paul said he is a longtime Star Wars fan ever since seeing the first movie at age six as a kid in London.

The new movie Solo: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now and moviegoers might be wondering if they should stay after the credits for an extra scene!

We can confirm that there is nothing in the middle or after the credits, so feel free to leave the theater without worrying that you’re missing something.

Movies that are part of a franchise, like the Marvel films, often have teasers for future films after the end credits.

Solo, which follows Han Solo’s adventures years before joining the Rebellion, stars Alden Ehrenreich as the title character along with Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge hit the red carpet together at the BFI screening of their movie Solo: A Star Wars Story on Wednesday (May 23) in London, England.

The actresses have been a worldwide press tour to promote the film, which hits theaters everywhere this weekend.

Thandie Newton has a major red carpet moment while attending the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The actress wore a custom Vivienne Westwood gown that featured all of the black Star Wars characters printed on the fabric.

“For tonight’s #StarWars premiere, Thandie had the brilliant idea to make a dress covered in a print with photos of iconic black @starwars characters!” her stylist Erin Walsh wrote on Instagram. “She wanted to celebrate her role in the iconic history of the franchise!! She is the first black woman onscreen in a @starwars movie with a leading role.”

Photographer Christian Hogstedt photographed action figures from Thandie‘s collection and then the fashion house made a print on a gown that is totally eco friendly.

Some of the characters seen on the gown include John Boyega‘s Finn, Billy Dee Williams‘ Lando, Samuel L. Jackson‘s Mace Windu, Forest Whitaker‘s Saw Gerrera, and Hugh Quarshie‘s Captain Panaka.

Jennifer Connelly shows off her custom Stormtrooper-inspired dress at the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

The Oscar-winning actress was at the event to support her husband Paul Bettany, who appears in the film.

“My wife is the hottest stormtrooper #solo #vuitton,” Paul wrote on his Instagram account with a photo from the red carpet.
