The If Beale Street Could Talk co-stars are also presenting during the evening’s ceremony. The movie also has five nominations!

Make sure to tune in TONIGHT for the Critics’ Choice Awards, which will air on The CW at 7pm EST. The show honors the best in both movies and television.

Gabrielle Union happily strikes a pose while attending a special screening of the Barry Jenkins film If Beale Street Could Talk held at The London Hotel on Tuesday (January 08) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 46-year-old actress and Tracee Ellis Ross stepped out in style to support the film’s leading stars, KiKi Layne and Stephan James.

Also in attendance to show their support was Debby Ryan, Thomas Dekker, Waco‘s Andrea Riseborough, Wynonna Earp‘s Shamier Anderson, Frankie Drake Mysteries‘ Chantel Riley, and Ballers star Eli Goree.

Barry was just nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film at the 2019 British Academy Film Awards.

Regina King accepts her award on stage at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 47-year-old actress, a double nominee tonight, won her first Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk.

Regina was also nominated for her work in the Netflix series Seven Seconds.

“So often everyone out there they hear us on the red carpet and they say a celebrity is using the time to talk about ourselves when we are on our soap box and using a moment to talk about the systemic things that are going on in life,” Regina said during her speech.

“The reason why we do this is because we understand that our microphones are big and we are speaking for everyone,” she added. “And I just want to say that I’m going to use my platform right now to say in the next two years everything that I produce I’m making a vow and it’s going to be tough, to make sure that everything that I produce that is 50% women. And I just challenge anyone out there…who is in a position of power, not just in our industry, in all industries, I challenge you to challenge yourselves and stand with us in solidarity and do the same.”

Julia Roberts met up with a lot of her famous celeb pals at the Sean Penn Core Gala last night!

The star actress was seen posing for photos with Anderson Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Ben Stiller, Sean Penn himself and more at the event, held at The Wiltern on Saturday (January 5) in Los Angeles.

All proceeds went to support the organization formerly known as J/P HRO & its life-saving work across Haiti and around the world. Overall, the event raised $3.5 million!

KiKi Layne and Stephan James brought If Beale Street Could Talk to the 2019 AFI Awards Luncheon!

The co-stars stepped out at the event on Friday afternoon (January 4) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

They were also joined by their cast mates Regina King, Brian Tyree Henry and Colman Domingo as well as director Barry Jenkins.

Also in attendance was Brian‘s Atlanta co-star Lakeith Stanfield.

During the luncheon, If Beale Street Could Talk was honored as an AFI Movie of the Year.

The film is also up for Best Motion Picture in the Drama category as well as Best Screenplay at this weekend’s Golden Globes.

Stephan James stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday (December 18) and opened up about getting his first Golden Globe nomination.

The 25-year-old actor is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role in Amazon’s Homecoming.

“Incredible moment! What a way to wake up,” Stephan expressed. “It was very early, I was in my hotel room in Los Angeles and I get a call that had woken me up out of my sleep. All of a sudden I pick up the phone and just hear two voices screaming like inaudibly. After I recovered, I finally had a moment to smile and take it all in.”
