T.I. Apologizes For His Sexist Comments About a Female President

Rapper T.I. has issued an apology after his comments about not being able to vote for Hillary Clinton because she’s a woman went viral.

“My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended,” the 35-year-old rapper tweeted after getting some heat for his sexist comments.

“I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman….It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally,” T.I. said. Read his entire sexist statement if you missed it.

Rapper T.I. on Hillary Clinton: I Can't Vote for a Female President Because 'Women Make Rash Decisions Emotionally'

Rapper T.I. is in hot water after his sexist statements about not being able to vote for Hillary Clinton for president because she is a woman.

The 35-year-old entertainer sat down for an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, and the quote is now going viral.

“Not to be sexist but, I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman. Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally – they make very permanent, cemented decisions – and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke. [Other leaders] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy; the world ain’t ready yet. I think you might be able to the Lochness Monster elected before you could get a woman,” T.I. said.

T.I. No Longer Working Professionally with Iggy Azalea

UPDATE: Iggy has responded to T.I.’s claims and is looking at things in a different way.

T.I. was once Iggy Azalea‘s mentor, but now he’s disclosed that he has cut off his business ties with the young rapper.

“In her defense, she had a lot thrown at her at one time,” the 34-year-old entertainer told Ebro in the Morning. “Any human being anywhere [is gonna] have a hard time adjusting… It came at a time when culturally in this nation – when she’s not from here – we were actually looking for a source to place that pent-up aggression. Some stuff they brought upon themselves. In some cases, it kind of was the easiest place to put some pent-up aggression.

When asked when he cut off ties, he said, “Yeah, after the Q-Tip thing,” referring to when rapper Q-Tip sent tons of tweets to Iggy, schooling her on hip hop culture. Iggy was accused of misappropriating black culture in the huge resulting backlash.

“After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ Then, after it was cool, everything was cool. And then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [orchestrated]. Imma be all the way real: I’m a loyal partner. If I rock with you, I’m gon’ rock with you… Right, wrong, we’re gonna discuss that in the car,” T.I. continued. “Right now, Imma block the bullets…” he recalled. “When I say, ‘Go?’ Go! Don’t stand around and tote while I’m blocking bullets. You slowing me down, you know what I’m saying?”

“But I really do feel that they just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they can do,” T.I. said of Iggy and her crew. “They have the talent, they have the charisma.”
