Teri Hatcher is back on stage in the musical The Addams Family and you have one weekend left to catch the limited run in the Los Angeles area!

The former Desperate Housewives actress is playing Morticia Addams in the 5-Star Theatricals production at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

For those who don’t know, Teri briefly studied at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theatre and she starred as Sally Bowles in the national touring company of the musical Cabaret.

The limited run began on October 14 and the production will close on October 23. The book has been updated from the Broadway run and features references to current events in pop culture, like TikTok trends and Lea Michele‘s run in Funny Girl.

There’s even a reference to Desperate Housewives during a portion of the show when Teri‘s Morticia tries to act like a normal housewife. Her husband Gomez says something along the lines of, “Your attempt at being a housewife is coming off quite desperate.” The audience roared with applause!

The Broadway musical is making its regional premiere in the 5-Star Theatricals production at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The Addams Family: The Musical embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Tim Burton is bringing The Addams Family to Netflix.

The iconic director and streaming service unveiled plans for a live action series centered on Wednesday Addams, which was played by Christina Ricci in the 90s movie franchise.

Titled Wednesday, the new eight-episode comedy would focus on the daughter of Gomez and Morticia.

“The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” the official plot description says. “Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”

This will also mark Tim‘s first television directorial debut on an entire series.

The Addams Family has had multiple iterations – first in a live action television series in the 1970s before the movies came. Just recently, an animated movie was made as well.

A sequel to the animated movie The Addams Family is on the way and MGM just announced the release date!

The Addams Family 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 8, 2021, just in time for the Halloween season.

Returning for the movie are Charlize Theron (Morticia), Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Chloe Moretz (Wednesday), Nick Kroll (Fester), Bette Midler (Grandma) and Snoop Dogg (It). Joining the cast are Bill Hader as Cyrus and Javon “Wanna” Walton as Pugsley.

Director Greg Tiernan said in a statement, “The success of last year’s animated film was proof of the enduring legacy of The Addams Family and its ability to transcend popular culture. This second film will be every bit as fun as the original. We are thrilled to welcome Bill Hader and Javon Walton, and to welcome back our incredible original cast for this exciting next chapter in the Addams’s journey.”

An Addams Family superfan will have the exciting opportunity to voice a yet-to-be-named character in the film by entering The Addams Family Voice Challenge. The global voiceover contest runs from October 8th to November 4th in select markets.

Deadline reports that after a huge weekend in theaters, a second film has been ordered, with an October 2021 release date.

The new animated film centers on the iconic spooky family – Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Grandma – who are preparing for a visit from their even creepier relatives. But trouble soon arises when shady TV personality Margaux Needler realizes that the Addams’ eerie hilltop mansion is standing in the way of her dream to sell all the houses in the neighborhood.
