Netflix Celebrates 'The Irishman's Oscar Nominations With 6 New Posters

Netflix has revealed six new posters for The Irishman.

The film, which stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, was recently nominated for 10 Oscars including Best Supporting Actors for Al and Joe, plus Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

If you’re unfamiliar, the movie is an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.

Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.

The Irishman is streaming now on Netflix.

Anna Paquin Defends Her Nearly Silent Role in 'The Irishman'

Anna Paquin is defending her small role in the new Netflix movie The Irishman, in which her character only says six words throughout the entire three-and-a-half hour film.

The Oscar-winning actress is not upset about her small role, despite people on Twitter expressing an opposite reaction.

“It’s very endearing when people think they are fighting a fight on your behalf, but not really necessary. I’m incredibly happy,” Anna told THR.

Anna plays the daughter of Robert De Niro‘s character in the Martin Scorsese-directed movie.

“I have such a tiny little role in the film, and I was so excited to get to be a part of it in the first place, and all of this [awards recognition] is just the icing on the cake,” she added.

Anna is part of the Best Ensemble nominations that the film has received from the SAG Awards and the Critics’ Choice Awards.
