Lots of actors get their starts on soap operas and we’re taking a look at all of the famous actors who appeared on General Hospital before getting their big breaks elsewhere.

General Hospital has been airing on ABC since 1963 and just celebrated its 61st anniversary on April 1.

While many of the actors on the show have remained in their roles for decades, many celebs got their start on the soap opera and eventually broke into the world of film and primetime television.

Stars like James Franco, Chandra Wilson, Elizabeth Taylor, and more have had guest arcs on General Hospital after they were already famous, so we’re not including them here.

Shannon Chan-Kent and Shannon Kook celebrate the holidays with their new Hallmark movie, A Big Fat Family Christmas.

The two star alongside Jack Wagner and Tia Carrere in the newest Countdown to Christmas offering, airing TONIGHT, at 8 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.

“I think this film addresses identities and heritage at the same time while celebrating Christmas. It’s a beautifully balanced story,” Shannon K shared about his movie in a new interview, before joking about how he and his co-star are both Shannons.

“It was lovely to work with her,” he said of Shannon C. “It was a wonderful process to share this with her. We are both Shannons.”

Shannon also added that his character, “Henry is a fun, loving guy, who is curious about the world around him. He is also an immigrant like myself. I am from South Africa, and I am very happy to see that Hallmark is expanding its content with this kind of storyline.”

Tiffany Haddish has a twirl moment on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie, Easter Sunday, held at TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday night (August 2) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 42-year-old actress posed for pics with co-star Jo Koy, and they joined more of their cast mates at the event including Jimmy O. Yang, Tia Carrere, Brandon Wardell, Eva Noblezada, Lydia Gaston, Asif Ali, Rodney To, Eugene Cordero, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Dustin Ybarra.

Joey Guila, Melody Butiu, and Lou Diamond Phillips were also at the event, with celeb supporters Harvey Guillen, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Dania Ramirez, Cheryl Burke, Kelly Hu, Wanya Morris, Siena Agudong, Tisha Campbell, and Jo‘s son, Joseph Herbert Jr.

Easter Sunday centers on a man (Koy), who returns home to celebrate Easter with his riotous, bickering, eating, drinking, laughing, loving family.

The flick will be out in theaters on Friday, August 5.

Melanie Lynskey shows off her award in a cute pic with Rose McIver during the 2022 Gracie Awards held at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on Tuesday night (May 24) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The two actresses, who are both from New Zealand, stepped out for the event alongside a handful of other stars including Chad‘s Nasim Pedrad, Ava DuVernay, Brie and Nikki Bella, Tia Carrere, Shannon Thornton, Mimi Rogers, Tamron Hall, Medalion Rahimi, pregnant Christina Perri, and Hallmark stars Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Holly Robinson Peete, Bethany Joy Lenz, and Maggie Lawson.

Hosted by Holly, the awards recognized exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.

Tamron was honored with the Best On-Air Talent award; Ava with the Best Family Series for Home Sweet Home; and Nasim for Best Actress in a Breakthrough Role in Comedy.

Meanwhile, Melanie received the Best Actress in Leading Role Drama honor for Yellowjackets.

“It’s amazing to be 45 years old in a size 12…and be playing the sexiest, most interesting, most fun role of my entire career,” she said during her speech. “I never thought it was going to get better, but it did.”

Heidi Klum and Kelly Rowland both matched the black carpet while attending the premiere of Moonfall!

The 48-year-old America’s Got Talent judge and the 40-year-old Destiny’s Child singer stepped out for the event on Monday night (January 31) at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Other stars who attended the event included The Talk‘s Amanda Kloots, Brothers and Sisters actor Gilles Marini, Bling Empire star Cherie Chan, Uncharted‘s Sophia Ali, and Wayne’s World actress Tia Carrere.

Christina Aguilera gives her daughter Summer a kiss while arriving in their car at the 2020 Nights of the Jack Friends & Family Night held at King Gillette Ranch on Wednesday night (September 30) in Calabasas, Calif.

The 39-year-old singer was just one of the many guests at the event, who drove through the socially distanced event to kick off the Halloween month.

Ashlee Simpson, Evan Ross and their kids, Bronx Wentz and Jagger Ross, Tia Carrere, Tyra Banks, Finneas O’Connell and his longtime love Claudia Sulewski, plus Chuck Liddell, Cheyenne Jackson and Jason Landau were also seen at the drive in event.

The young stars of This Is Us, Parker Bates and Mackenzie Hancsicsak arrived in separate cars alongside The Lion King‘s JD McCrary, were also at the event.

The one-of-a-kind Halloween experience was reimagined as a contactless drive-thru trail filled with thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns, creating a safe environment for families to still enjoy.

Nights of the Jack will be open to the public from October 1 through November 1.

RuPaul happily hits the red carpet with his little co-star Izzy G. while attending the season one premiere of their new Netflix series AJ & The Queen held at the Egyptian Theatre on Thursday (January 9) in Hollywood.

The drag queen superstar and Izzy were joined at the event by Sex and the City‘s Kristin Davis, Whitney Cummings, Ross Mathews, Michelle Visage, Este Haim, Kalen Allen, Gigi Gorgeous, Tatiana Maslany and Jonathan Bennett as they all came out to show their support.

Also in attendance were the other stars of the series Michael-Leon Wooley, Tia Carrere, Katerina Tannenbaum, Matthew Wilkas, showrunner Michael Patrick King and drag queens Shangela, Ginger Minj, Eureka, Mayhem Miller, Mariah Balenciaga, Valentina, Ongina, Monique Heart, Pandora Boxx, Trinity The Tuck, Latrice Royale and Jaymes Mansfield.
