Tituss Burgess is the latest star to join the cast of Annie Live!
The 42-year-old actor and Broadway performer will join Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan, Harry Connick Jr. as Daddy Warbucks and Nicole Scherzinger as Grace.
Tituss will take on the role of Rooster, the brother of Miss Hannigan who hatches a plan to steal Annie, THR reports. The role of Annie has not yet been cast, but stay tuned.
In reaction to his role as Rooster, Tituss released a brief statement, saying, “I’ve always wanted to be a villain.”
Annie Live is set to air on NBC on December 2. More casting news should be announced in the coming weeks.
Jennifer Hudson made a regal arrival to the premiere of Respect, held at Regency Village Theatre on Sunday (August 8) in Los Angeles.
The 39-year-old singer and actress was joined by most of her co-stars, including Hailey Kilgore, Marc Maron, Tate Donovan, Audra McDonald, Tituss Burgess, and Marlon Wayans.
Skye Dakota Turner, Saycon Sengbloh, Brenda Nicole Moorer, Peyton Jackson, Myk Watford, Gilbert Glenn Brown, LeRoy McClain, Kimberly Scott, Lodric D. Collins, and Jerel Xavier Alston were also seen on the red carpet.
While on the press line, Jennifer shared a few cute moments with director Liesl Tommy.
Respect will chronicle Aretha Franklin’s rise to fame from singing in her father’s church choir as a child to becoming an international musical superstar and legend.
The movie will be out in theaters on August 13.

Tituss Burgess, one of the Emmy-nominated stars of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, is reacting to his co-star Ellie Kemper‘s apology for her participation in a pageant that has racist history.
The actor took to Instagram on Monday night (June 7) to share his thoughts on the controversy and Ellie‘s apology.
Tituss reposted the lengthy statement that Ellie released earlier that day and he wrote his own comments in the caption of the post.

Jennifer Hudson becomes the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in the brand new trailer for Respect.
Here’s a synopsis of the highly anticipated movie: “Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, Respect is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.”
Jennifer is joined in the movie by Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Kimberly Scott, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Heather Headley, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan and Mary J. Blige.
Respect, directed by Liesl Tommy, had been delayed in its debut due to the pandemic.
It will now premiere in theaters on August 11.

The Disney movie Ratatouille is getting the Broadway treatment thanks to a huge TikTok sensation that blew up recently and a star-studded cast has been set to bring the musical to life.
After people on TikTok came together to write songs for a potential musical version of Ratatouille, some Broadway producers came together to set up a one-performance-only production to benefit The Actors Fund. The one-time performance will feature content created by members of TikTok’s #RatatouilleMusical Community, whose collective work has earned the engagement of more than 200 million fans around the globe, and will be performed with the 20-piece Broadway Sinfonietta orchestra.
Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical will begin streaming on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 7:00pm ET for 72 hours only. Tickets for the event are on sale exclusively on TodayTix.com.
