A third Top Gun movie is in the works and a new report has revealed the actors from Top Gun: Maverick who are in talks to reprise their roles.
It’s pretty obvious that one of them is Tom Cruise, who starred as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in both films.
Top Gun: Maverick was released in May 2022 and was a smash hit, grossing $1.495 billion at the worldwide box office and receiving six Oscar nominations, including one for Best Picture.
Paramount Pictures has greenlit another installment to the franchise amid the news that Tom has signed a partnership with Warner Bros. to develop new original and franchise movies.

The 36-year-old actor, who played Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in the Oscar-nominated movie, was accompanied by his wife Keleigh Sperry for the event.

Top Gun: Maverick is continuing to be a massive hit!
Tom Cruise‘s latest movie is the highest-grossing movie of 2022, both domestically and globally, and now it has broken a record in its streaming debut.
Paramount+ debuted the film on December 22 and the movie “broke records domestically as the most watched movie premiere ever for the service, surpassing the previous record, held by Sonic the Hedgehog 2, by 60%.”
The original Top Gun movie and the Mission: Impossible franchise titles also saw huge gains in viewers over the weekend.
“We are thrilled to see a continuation of the film’s massive record-breaking success by becoming the #1 most-watched movie premiere on Paramount+,” said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, Paramount Streaming. “We continue to benefit from the highly anticipated theatrical hits from Paramount Pictures that come to the service delivering fans a new way to continue to watch and re-watch their favorite movies.”
