Jamie Foxx and Jordan Peele happily hit the stage to speak at The African American Film Critics Association’s 2020 AAFCA Awards held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Wednesday (January 22) in Hollywood.

The guys along with Eddie Murphy (not pictured) were among some of the honorees at the 11th annual ceremony in Los Angeles.

“People say so much about the other awards, but it’s special when it comes from your own people,” Jamie said (via USA Today), who won best supporting actor for his role in Just Mercy.

“It’s just special,” Jamie added after receiving the award from the organization, which actively reviews films with an emphasis on projects that include the black experience. The awards mainly highlight films produced, written, directed and starring people from the African diaspora along with other ethnic projects that break new ground.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were Sterling K. Brown, Issa Rae, Lena Waithe, Bong Joon Ho, Melina Matsoukas, Lil Rel Howery, Garcelle Beauvais and Trevor Jackson.

Demi Lovato and Billie Eilish get their scare on at Halloween Horror Nights!

The 27-year-old “Echame la Culpa” singer and the 17-year-old “bad guy” crooner visited Universal Studios Hollywood on Sunday (October 27) in Universal City, Calif.

Demi posed with a group of chainsaw-wielding demons, while Billie Eilish got spooked by a couple of “bad guys.”

“It’s not Halloween unless you go to @horrornights at Universal!” Demi shared on Instagram. “Thank you #UniversalHHN for the tricks & treats with some of my favorite people 🎃🖤👻 always a blast.”

Singers Jessie J and Trevor Jackson were also in attendance that night.

Tracee Ellis Ross is pretty in pink as she poses alongside mixed-ish star Arica Himmel at the POPSUGAR X ABC: Embrace Your Ish Party held at the Goya Studios on Tuesday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The 46-year-old Golden Globe-winning actress and Arica were joined at the event by Grown-ish stars Chloe and Halle Bailey, Francia Raisa, Trevor Jackson, Jordan Buhat and Jeff Meacham, as well as Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, Laurence Fishburne, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Peter Mackenzie and Peter Saji.

Also in attendance were Arica‘s mixed-ish cast mates Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tika Sumpter, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Ethan William Childress and Christina Anthony.

The 19-year-old grown-ish actress was joined by Black Lightning‘s Nafessa Williams.

During the show, Yara changed up her outfit as she took the stage to present the Best New Artist award to Lil Baby.
