There’s some Virgin River news that fans are going to love!

Firstly, Deadline confirmed that season six begins production today! In addition, the site is reporting that there’s a prequel series in the works at Netflix. The prequel series would explore Sarah and Everett’s origin story. Casting for young Everett and young Sarah is ongoing, and they would apparently appear in Virgin River‘s sixth season in flashbacks. If you don’t know, Sarah and Everett are Mel’s parents.

Next, we learned that several stars will be returning for season six…but one character might be recast!

Real-life Hallmark Channel couple Marco Grazzini and Alvina August are parents!

On Thursday (September 7, Marco‘s birthday), Marco hopped on social media to share a photo of himself posing with his newborn. The couple announced that they were expecting back in April of this year.

In the comments section, he revealed if he and his child shared a birthday.

Virgin River is a beloved show on Netflix and the series is returning for season five this fall!

The upcoming season is being split into two parts with 10 episodes debuting on the streamer on September 7 and two holiday-themed episodes arriving on November 30.
