Jay Hernandez is giving a shout out to Magnum P.I. fans after the show was saved from cancellation.
If you missed it, the action series was axed by CBS in the last round of cancellations a few months ago. However, NBC picked up the series and issued a two-season order for it.
Now, Jay, as well as co-stars Perdita Weeks, Stephen Hill and Zachary Knighton, are sharing their thanks to fans for sticking with them.

The cast of the CBS reboot promoted the upcoming series at 2018 Comic-Con.
Jay opened up about the significance of having a Latino actor play the titular character on the reboot of the beloved franchise.
“There’s a lot of negativity attached to people of color, so it’s really wonderful and bold and special to have this opportunity to put that imagery to tell stories and to be on TV and to have something up there that is in very stark contrast to a lot of what we’re absorbing on a subconscious level,” Jay told Variety.

Gerald McRaney guest stars as Ed Thune, a retired army colonel who Joel (Timothy Olyphant) finds very intimidating.
Zachary Knighton guest stars as Paul, the chill descendant of Serbian ancestors who has been tasked with pursuing the truth of the undead, no matter who or what stands in his way.
The upcoming second season will be premiering this spring.

At the festival, Happy Endings creator David spoke about the possibility of a reboot for the show.
“[We don't want] to do six episodes shot on an iPhone,” David expressed (via THR). “But if someone would actually let us do it the real way, then everyone would want to do it.”
