Robert Pattinson is stepping out for his first official appearance as a new dad!

The 37-year-old actor looked adorable while posing with director Bong Joon-ho at the Warner Bros. presentation at 2024 CinemaCon on Tuesday (April 9) in Las Vegas.

Robert and Bong were there to present their upcoming movie Mickey 17.

Robert is playing an “expendable” — a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Nifheim — who refuses to let his replacement clone take his place.

Bong told the crowd at CinemaCon that 17 refers to the “number of times he dies.”

“It’s based on the novel Mickey 7, but we made it Mickey 17,” Bong said. “The number is the number of times he dies. I kill him 10 times more. It’s a story of a simple man. It’s a sci-fi movie. It’s hard to say sci-fi — it’s a human story.”

The film was delayed from a March 2024 release to a January 2025 release.

Bong Joon Ho‘s next film is increasingly star-studded.

Oscar winning Parasite director Bong Joon-ho seems to have finally chosen his next project nearly two years after his decorated run at the 2020 Oscars!

The director is in talks to write and direct a new movie based on Edward Ashton’s upcoming novel “Mickey7″ (due out in February 2022). Even more interesting is Robert Pattinson is in talks to star in the film, Deadline reports.

Cynthia Erivo looks stunning in her final look at the 2021 Venice Film Festival!

The 34-year-old Oscar-nominated actress stepped out in a sheer gown for the closing ceremony on Saturday (September 11) in Venice, Italy.

Cynthia was on the jury for the festival this year and she joined her fellow jury members on the carpet. Also in attendance were Canadian actress Sarah Gadon, Parasite director Bong Joon-ho, Nomadland director Chloe Zhao, Belgian actress Virginie Efira, Italian director Saverio Costanzo, and Romanian-German documentary director Alexander Nanau.

Helen Mirren shows off her spectacular silver gown while arriving at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival on Wednesday evening (September 1) in Venice, Italy.

The 76-year-old actress walked the red carpet along with her husband, Taylor Hackford, for the opening ceremony, which also served as the premiere of Madres Paralelas.

Helen wasn’t the only one in a jaw-dropped dress for the kick off of the festival as Cynthia Erivo and Adriana Lima also chose dazzling gowns.

Also seen on the red carpet were Cynthia‘s fellow jury members Sarah Gadon, Bong Joon-ho and Chloe Zhao.

Barbara Palvin, Sara Sampaio, Isabelle Huppert, Tia Taylor, Roberto Benigni, sisters Eliza and Amelia Spencer, Farhana Bodi, and Bianca Balti were also seen on the red carpet for the start of the annual film festival.

Here’s what everyone was wearing: Helen wore a metallic Dolce & Gabbana dress. Sarah, Isabelle, Barbara and Sara wore Armani Privé. Cynthia wore a Versace gown. Bianca wore a Beauty and the Beast inspired Dolce & Gabbana gown. The Spencer sisters wore Alberta Ferretti. Adriana wore a Etro dress with Pomellato jewelry.

Bong Joon-Ho is calling out his fellow filmmakers.

The Parasite director is urging others to speak out and to use their medium to respond to the racism and hate directed towards Asian and Black communities.

“I’m far away in Korea and I have to see everything in the news from an outsider’s perspective, but as someone who is a part of mankind, as a person, it’s quite fearful to watch the hate crimes against Asian-Americans and the BLM movement,” Bong shared during a virtual masterclass over the weekend at Chapman’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California.

He went on, “I do think about what the film industry can do at this time. With films, creating a film takes a lot of time and a lot of money; it’s a big unit that can’t really respond quickly to issues that are currently happening in society. It’s a medium that’s difficult to use when you are trying to respond in real-time. But ironically, because of that, I think creators and filmmakers can be bolder with dealing with issues and they shouldn’t be afraid to confront them.”

Bong then emphasized and look back at the film that inspired him to tackle a social issue in Parasite - Spike Lee‘s 1989 movie, Do The Right Thing.

“That film came out in 1989; it was three years before the L.A. Riots but almost predicted the riots were going to happen,” he recalled.

Bong concluded his speech, saying that “as creators and artists, you sort of have to see through the essence and the central questions in our society through the days that you live through and send a reply to those questions through your work.”
