'Paranormal Activity' Is Getting a Reboot with Franchise Veterans Returning for New Movie!

The Paranormal Activity franchise is returning!

A reboot is currently in the works with Jason Blum and franchise creator Oren Peli as the producers.

The first movie was a massive hit and it led to a series that currently has six movies. Christopher Landon, who wrote four of the movies and also directed the fifth installment, will return to write the new reboot. He is also the director of the Happy Death Day movies and the recent film Freaky.

THR reports that the script will be an “unexpected retooling” of the franchise and found footage will remain as a plot device.

Will Eubank, who most recently directed the Kristen Stewart horror film Underwater, will be directing the reboot.

Paramount Players is releasing the film and it has been given a release date of March 4, 2022.

Kathryn Newton Swaps Bodies With a Killer in 'Freaky' - Watch the Trailer!

Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn are swapping bodies in the upcoming horror comedy film Freaky, which follows a teenage girl who switches bodies with a relentless serial killer.

The film is being produced by Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and it was co-written and directed by Happy Death Day‘s Christopher Landon.

Here is the full synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Millie Kessler (Newton) is just trying to survive the bloodthirsty halls of Blissfield High and the cruelty of the popular crowd. But when she becomes the newest target of The Butcher (Vaughn), her town’s infamous serial killer, her senior year becomes the least of her worries. When The Butcher’s mystical ancient dagger causes him and Millie to wake up in each other’s bodies, Millie learns that she has just 24 hours to get her body back before the switch becomes permanent and she’s trapped in the form of a middle-aged maniac forever. The only problem is she now looks like a towering psychopath who’s the target of a city-wide manhunt while The Butcher looks like her and has brought his appetite for carnage to Homecoming. With some help from her friends—ultra-woke Nyla (Celeste O’Connor), ultra-fabulous Joshua (Misha Osherovich) and her crush Booker (Uriah Shelton)—Millie races against the clock to reverse the curse while The Butcher discovers that having a female teen body is the perfect cover for a little Homecoming killing spree.

Freaky is hitting theaters on Friday, November 13. Watch the trailer below!

'Happy Death Day' Director Talks About Sequel Ideas (Spoilers!)

Happy Death Day was a big hit at the box office this weekend, taking in more than experts initially predicted and landing at number one with $26.5 million!

Now, there is sequel talk and director Christopher Landon is opening up about ideas for a possible second movie. This post obviously includes some spoilers as to what happened at the end of the first movie, so read on at your own risk.

Happy Death Day follows a college student (Jessica Rothe) who relives the same day over and over again and it always ends with her dying. The film ends with her figuring out who the killer is and stopping the time loop.

So, what will happen in a possible sequel?

“I’m trying to keep this close to the vest and be secretive. We don’t want to jinx it. We’re not counting our chickens and we don’t want to operate under the assumption that the movie is going well,” Chris told THR. “We never know how things are going to go. I will say that if we are lucky, and people like the movie and we get to do another one, I do have a sequel ready in my head, and it’s definitely not what anyone is expecting, but it will make a lot of sense.”

“And it will answer a lot of questions that may pop up in the first movie for people. But that’s only if I get to do it. If I don’t, I’m probably just taking it to my grave,” he added.

DO YOU THINK there should be a sequel to Happy Death Day?
