Jason Momoa & Hera Hilmar Celebrate 'See's Final Season Premiere in LA

Jason Momoa holds on to Hera Hilmar‘s clutch while posing for photos with her on the red carpet premiere of See‘s final season held at DGA Theater Complex on Tuesday (August 23) in Los Angeles.

The two stars were joined by a ton of their co-stars, including Olivia Cheng, Nesta Cooper, Mainei Kinimaka, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Trieste Kelly Dunn, David Hewlett, and Michael Raymond-James.

The eight-episode final season of See will debut this Friday, August 26 on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday.

If you’re unfamiliar, See is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see.

In season three, almost a year has passed since Baba Voss (Momoa) defeated his nemesis brother Edo and bid farewell to his family to live remotely in the forest. But when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity, Baba returns to Paya in order to protect his tribe once more.

Jason Momoa's 'See' to End with Season 3, Teaser Trailer Released - Watch Now

Jason Momoa‘s hit TV show See is officially coming to an end on AppleTV+

The streamer released the teaser for the third season moments ago, alongside the news that the third season would be its last.

“We are thrilled to share this epic final chapter of ‘See,’ which delivers all the intense drama, riveting action, and heartfelt emotion fans have come to expect, as well as what we think is a deeply satisfying conclusion to our story,” See showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Tropper said in a statement. “Building a world without sight was a particularly unique and continuous challenge that was met through the passionate and thoughtful collaboration of a phenomenally talented and diverse team both in front of and behind the camera. The show has been a monumental labor of love for all involved, and we are eternally grateful for the way ’See’ has been embraced by viewers around the world.”

Apple TV+ Renews 'See' for Season 3, Plus Announces Premiere Date for Season 2

The Apple TV+ series See has been renewed for a third season, before the second season even premieres!

Deadline reports that the second and third season were shot back-to-back and production is currently underway on the upcoming episodes. This means the renewal was made months ago.

See “takes place in the far future and humankind has lost its sense of sight. In season two, Baba Voss (Momoa) is fighting to reunite his torn-apart family and get away from the war and politics that surround him, but the more he moves away, the deeper he gets sucked in, and the emergence of his nemesis brother (New cast member Dave Bautista) threatens his family even more.”

Returning for the new season are Alfre Woodard as Paris, Hera Hilmar as Maghra, Sylvia Hoeks as Queen Kane, and Christian Carmago as Tamacti Jun.

Apple TV+ Renews Four Shows for Season 2 - See Which Shows Are Coming Back!

Apple TV+ is renewing some of their most popular series!

The new streaming service, which has not yet disclosed details about subscribers or viewership activity, announced on Thursday (November 7) that four shows will be renewed with sophomore seasons.

Apple insiders are reportedly” impressed by the volume of activity on the platform, which spiked by triple digits this past weekend after the fanfare for the Nov. 1 debut,” according to Variety.

“Sources close to Apple say the early numbers indicate that most viewers who watched one episode of the core four series went on to watch at least one more, if not two. Those metrics were well-received inside Apple as a sign that viewers were responding well to the shows.”

Jason Momoa holds hand wife Lisa Bonet as they arrive at the premiere of See on Monday night (October 21) at the Fox Village Theater in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old actor looked cool in a silk, pink suit as he stepped out for the premiere of his upcoming Apple TV+ series.

Jason Momoa's Apple Series 'See' Gets First Trailer - Watch!

Jason Momoa is starring in the upcoming Apple series See and the official trailer was just unveiled!

The epic world-building drama also stars Alfre Woodard and it will debut exclusively on the new streaming service Apple TV+ on November 1.

The series takes place in the distant future, after a deadly virus decimated humankind. Those who survived, emerged blind. Jason stars as Baba Voss — the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see — who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who wants the twins destroyed.

See is written and created by Steven Knight and directed by Francis Lawrence. The cast also includes Yadira Guevara-Prip, Sylvia Hoeks, Nesta Cooper, Archie Madekwe, Christian Camargo, Hera Hilmar, and Marilee Talkington.
