Joaquin Phoenix Reportedly Leaves Interview After Being Asked About Violence in 'Joker'

Joaquin Phoenix reportedly left an interview when asked about the violence in his upcoming film Joker.

The 44-year-old actor’s film has been met with some controversy about the amount of violence it contains and the sympathy it shows to the killer.

In an interview with The Telegraph, a journalist asked Joaquin, “Aren’t you worried that this film might perversely end up inspiring exactly the kind of people it’s about, with potentially tragic results?”

According to the outlet, Joaquin responded, “Why? Why would you…? No, no,” before leaving the room.

They added that Joaquin spoke with a Warner Bros press agent before returning to the interview an hour later, explaining he panicked because he had not previously considered the question.

Joaquin did not ever answer the question during the interview.
