Paul Rudd Says He Helped Encourage Leonardo DiCaprio to Star in 'Titanic'!

Paul Rudd reveals he had a part in getting Leonardo DiCaprio to star in this huge film!

During an interview on The Graham Norton Show, set to air on Friday, October 18, the 50-year-old Ant-Man actor revealed that he helped convince the 44-year-old Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood star to take on the role in Titanic.

While working together on Romeo + Juliet, Leo shared with Paul that he was offered a role in Titanic, but hadn’t accepted the role yet.

“We all went out out to bar… I was riding to the place with Leo and he said, ‘I just got offered this movie and it’s a big movie,” Paul explained while adding that he told Leo the news was “incredible” and then shared with Leo that he had a special connection to Titanic.

“My father was a Titanic expert and he used to take people all over the world talking about Titanic,” Paul revealed. “He would go to universities.”

Paul shared the story with Leo, who still wasn’t totally sold on starring in the movie.

“He was saying, ‘Well, I don’t know what I’ll do,’ and I remember saying, ‘You should do it,’” Paul continued, leaving Graham to say he was the unsung hero of Titanic.

“I don’t think I had any say but it is kind of interesting to think back on that,” Paul responded.

As you know, Leo went on to star in the 1997 film which won 11 awards at the 1998 Oscars.
