Kat Von D Explains Why She Just Bought a House in Indiana

Kat Von D is the owner of a new home.

The 38-year-old tattoo artist and former reality TV star took to Instagram on Thursday (December 17) to reveal that she and husband Rafael Reyes just purchased a new home in Indiana.

“It’s official! Vevay, Indiana here we come!β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ” Kat wrote while holding a “Sold” sign in front of her Victorian-style house.

Shortly after posting the photo, Kat revealed she was bombarded by questions from family, friends, and fans asking if she was leaving L.A. for a move to the Midwest.

She then took to her Story to address the new house.

“Getting lotsa texts from friends asking if we are moving to Indiana and selling our home in Hancock Park, and if so, why,” Kat started.

“Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA, but with all that has been taking place in California, with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so many more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where there is nature, where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day,” Kat explained.

If you didn’t know, Kat and Rafael have been married since 2018 and share 2-year-old son Leafar.

“So, no, I’m not closing my shop in LA. We aren’t selling our home,” Kat added. “But will eventually be spending more time in beautiful Indiana once I finish doing some remodeling on our new historic house.”
