Billy Porter is opening up about his life after divorce.

If you didn’t see the news, the 53-year-old actor announced in July 2023 that he was separating from his husband of six years, Adam Smith.

At the time, his rep shared, “I can confirm that Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith have made the sad decision to end their marriage after six years. The decision was an amicable and mutual one and was made after much consideration. They continue to love and support each other as they embark on this next chapter. There will be no further comment from either parties and it would be appreciated if their privacy be respected.”

The 53-year-old Pose star’s rep confirmed the news on Wednesday (July 5) to People.

“I can confirm that Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith have made the sad decision to end their marriage after six years,” the rep said.

Billy Porter now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The 53-year-old Emmy and Tony-winning actor received the special honor during a ceremony on Thursday (December 1) in Hollywood.

Billy was joined by his husband Adam Smith and more friends while celebrating the special occasion.

“I’m grateful to have lived long enough to see the day that my queerness is no longer my liability, but now is my greatest superpower,” Billy said during his speech (via ABC7). “I’m grateful to stand in front of the world as an out, loud and proud representation of what being Black, queer and HIV positive looks like in 2022.”

He added, “You know I heard a lot of things in my life: ‘You’re too Black, you’re too gay, too loud, too extra, try to be quieter, try fitting in, butch it up, dim your light, stop making everyone feel so uncomfortable around you.’ I tried to do all of those things, I really tried hard, but thank God I couldn’t.”

Billy Porter and his husband Adam Smith are hitting the red carpet!

The couple were spotted posing together at the 2021 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 19) at The Event Deck at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old Pose actor stepped out in an all-black Ashi Studio look featuring dramatic sculptural wings, a diamond and emerald necklace and platform black boots. He paired the look with a sparkly green clutch.

Adam looked super suave for a sparkly black suit jacket with matching trousers and a bow tie.

Billy is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work in Pose. The FX series is also up for Outstanding Drama Series and Billy‘s co-star MJ Rodriguez is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

The 2021 Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, September 19 at 8/7c on CBS, and will also stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

The 49-year-old Pose star, who is days away from his 50th birthday on September 21, celebrated his appearance with two runway looks, an exit worthy of a soap opera diva, and a rendition of “I Will Survive.”

“Everyone says as you get older, it gets better. It’s the truth,” Billy later expressed about turning 50. “I’m experiencing a type of success that I didn’t even know how to dream of. It’s really really remarkable, and the best part about it is that once you get to a certain age, you give zero [bleep] about anything.”

That same night, Billy rocked a wig and had himself a Marvelous 50th Birthday Party at a private residence, hosted by Ketel One Family Made Vodka, in Los Angeles.

Billy was accompanied by his husband Adam Smith, Ricky Martin, Queer Eye‘s Tan France, Miss J Alexander, EJ Johnson, Shaun Ross, Deborah Cox, Padma Lakshmi, Trace Lysette, DJ Lina and Shoshana Bean, who surprised Billy with a special performance.

Billy Porter is making his presence known at London Fashion Week 2019!

The 49-year-old Pose star, who is days away from his 50th birthday, rocked a variety of looks while sitting front row during a bunch of shows on Monday (September 16) in London, England.

Billy switched up his looks to attend the JW Anderson S/S 2020 fashion show, the Erdem S/S 2020 fashion show, and the Roksanda S/S 2020.

Billy was also accompanied by his husband Adam Smith at all the presentations.

The day before, Billy Porter met up with Christina Aguilera at the Virgin Voyages x Gareth Pugh Collaboration Launch Party.

Luke Evans smolders on the red carpet as he arrives at the 2019 Fashion for Relief on Saturday night (September 14) at the British Museum in London, England.

The 40-year-old actor looked suave in a velvet blazer as he attended the London Fashion Week event hosted by Naomi Campbell.
