It looks like the American Idol wardrobe team really loved this dress, because they dressed two contestants in it this week!

Alyssa Wray and Aliana Jester both looked stunning in mirror dresses while competing on the show.

Alyssa has been one of the frontrunners this season and she wore the dress while performing on the Top 12 show on Sunday night (April 18). She advanced to the Top 9 at the end of the night!

Aliana was on the show last year and was invited back to compete in the Comeback Round for a chance to earn a spot in the Top 10. Even though her episode aired on Monday night (April 19), it was pre-taped, so she technically wore the dress first.

Alyssa wore a sleeveless version of the dress while Aliana wore it with sleeves. They have something else in common this week. They both performed songs from recent movie musicals!

Alyssa performed “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman while Aliana sang “I’ll Never Love Again” from A Star Is Born. Watch both videos below!

The latest episode of American Idol was all about the Oscars and the contestants performed music that had been nominated for Academy Awards in the past.

One of the highlights of the night was when Alyssa Wray put her spin on the song “This Is Me” from the movie The Greatest Showman!

Alyssa, who has experience in the theater community, is no stranger to performing songs from musicals on Idol. She previously has performed music from The Color Purple and Dreamgirls.

The judges had a lot of praise for Alyssa and Lionel Richie noted how she held out on the vocal dynamics, making us wait for those power notes until the end.

The duets round of Hollywood Week on American Idol aired on Monday night (March 22) and there was one performance that shined brighter than all of the rest!

The producers saved Grace Kinstler and Alyssa Wray for the final performance of the night and they surely saved the best for last.

The powerhouse vocalists performed a duet version of the Bruno Mars song “Grenade” and they blew the roof off the theatre with their incredible voices.

After the three judges gave a standing ovation to the ladies, Katy Perry said, “Alright, our job is done here. Show’s over. Everybody go home!”

Katy then ripped the wig off her head and said, “We’ve seen too much!” Lionel Richie remarked, “You blew Katy‘s wig off!” He then added, “Ladies, you all just stopped the show. I’m going to tell you now, you are absolutely going through.”

We’ll be seeing Grace and Alyssa in the Showstopper round next week and we have a feeling they’ll both be in the Top 24!

Even with an incredible moment like this one, there was also a really scary moment that occurred during the episode this evening.
