The beloved new musical Kimberly Akimbo was the big winner of the night at the 2023 Tony Awards!

Victoria Clark and Justin Cooley led a performance of the song “Anagram” on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

Kimberly Akimbo won the awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for Victoria, and Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for Bonnie Milligan.

The show was nominated for three other awards, including Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for Justin.

The cast of the beloved Broadway musical Kimberly Akimbo has arrived at the 2023 Tony Awards!

Victoria Clark and Bonnie Milligan both walked the red carpet on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

They were joined by fellow nominated co-star Justin Cooley.

Kimberly Akimbo is nominated for eight Tony Awards tonight, including Best Musical. Victoria is up for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, Bonnie is nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, and Justin is nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical.

In the new musical, Kimberly (Clark) is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush… and possible felony charges. Ever the optimist, she is determined to find happiness against all odds and embark on a great adventure.

The nominations for the 2023 Tony Awards were announced this week and every actor who is nominated for their performance in a musical showed up for the Meet the Nominees event!

Sara Bareilles, Josh Groban, Ben Platt, and Alex Newell were among the stars in attendance at the event on Thursday morning (May 4) at the Sofitel Hotel in New York City.

The Tonys will take place on Sunday, June 11 and we can’t wait to see Broadway’s best highlighted throughout the show.

Kimberly Akimbo is one of the hot new shows on Broadway and we caught up with scene-stealing star Bonnie Milligan to learn more about her!

The musical follows Kim, a bright and funny Jersey teen who happens to look like a 72-year-old lady. And yet her aging disease may be the least of her problems. Forced to maneuver family secrets, borderline personalities, and possible felony charges, Kim is determined to find happiness in a world where not even time is on her side.

Bonnie plays Kim’s aunt Debra and steals the show with her hilarious performance. She previously starred in the Broadway musical Head Over Heels and has been seen in TV shows like Search Party and Escape at Dannemora.

1. I share my birthday, March 27, with Mariah Carey, and it’s also World Theatre Day, kinda fitting!
2. I grew up in a double wide trailer in Central Illinois, before moving to Ohio when I was 16. 
3. As a child, I had a very active imagination, and I used to “act in my mirror”, Pretending I was in movies, appearing on Oprah, I acted out all the scenes with myself, and sometimes even would pretend to do outtakes. 
4. My favorite TV shows growing up were from Nick at Nite, so my references were all from a different era. Get Smart, Taxi, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Love Lucy, Donna Reed, Dick Van Dyke… they are still my favorites! When I was Student of the Month in 6th grade, there was a get to know you post hung up and my answers to favorite actors were Gale Gordon and Marilu Henner.
5. I have an older brother, Tim, who works as a Chief Warrant Officer for the Army National Guard. He’s been the most supportive and amazing force in my life. He and my Mom, Jeanie, drop everything to come and support me whenever they can. They always see my shows multiple times, and Tim was able to be there when I won my Theatre World Award in 2019.

Claybourne Elder and Andrew Keenan-Bolger show off their muscular bodies while performing in their underwear for The Skivvies‘ latest concert on Thursday (January 30) at Joe’s Pub in New York City.

The Skivvies are singer/actor/musicians Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, who perform stripped down arrangements of eclectic covers and eccentric originals while also stripped down themselves.

Claybourne, who will soon be seen in the revival of Company, performed a “99 Problems” medley while playing the violin and Andrew, one of the original stars of Newsies, did a medley of “Boys” songs.

Other performs who are pictured include Jagged Little Pill‘s Logan Hart, Diana‘s Roe Hartrampf, Les Miserables‘ Brennyn Lark, Anastasia‘s Max Von Essen, Head Over Heels‘ Bonnie Milligan, and performer Natalie Walker.

The awards show honors outstanding achievement in Off-Broadway shows and stars from the Broadway community came out to show support.

Kiss Me Kate‘s Stephanie Styles presented an award alongside Ain’t Too Proud‘s Jeremy Pope, who was joined by co-star Ephraim Sykes.

Reeve and Eva‘s co-star Patrick Page was joined at the show by his wife, Trading Spaces‘ Paige Davis.

Be More Chill stars Will Roland, Stephanie Hsu, and Katlyn Carlson were in attendance to support their show, as well as co-star George Salazar, who won Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. The show is now on Broadway!

Also in attendance were The Cher Show‘s Stephanie J. Block, To Kill a Mockingbird‘s Jeff Daniels, The Prom‘s Beth Leavel and Caitlin Kinnunen, Head Over Heels‘ Bonnie Milligan, Beetlejuice‘s Leslie Kritzer, The Phantom of the Opera‘s Jay Armstrong Johnson, as well as Judith Light, Annaleigh Ashford, and Superhero nominee Kate Baldwin.

The Oscar-winning actress was reportedly joined by her fiance Brad Falchuk at the show, which she helped produce.

The show features the music of rock music icons The Go-Go’s and it’s currently running in previews. The official opening night is July 26.
