Guillermo del Toro‘s Pinocchio, a whimsical, stop-motion musical, has its very first teaser and release date information straight from Netflix!

The film is a re-imagining of the classic Italian tale in a stop-motion musical adventure.

Directed by Guillermo and Mark Gustafson, the film features an all-star voice cast with Ewan McGregor as Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio. Other cast members include Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.

The film will be released on the streaming service in December, 2022.

“Jolie will play Karina, the ex-wife of an accomplished concert pianist named Richard (portrayed by Waltz). As the disease worsens and Richard can no longer play the piano or live on his own, Karina reluctantly steps in to be his caregiver,” the outlet reports.
