Dorian Electra Embraces Their Inner Rockstar In 'Guyliner' Music Video - Watch Here!

Gender fluid pop star Dorian Electra has just dropped the music video for their glam-worthy new single, “Guyliner“!

The track is the latest to receive a music video, directed by Dorian Electra and their long-time collaborator Weston Allen, off their debut album Flamboyant, which was released back in July of last year.

The video sees Dorian take on the ideals of masculinity by shaping and breaking stereotypes: “I wanted to harken back to the mid 2000s emo/Myspace/scene kid aesthetic because that was a really special cultural moment for masculinity that helped make it more okay for ‘guys’ to wear tight ‘girl’s’ jeans, makeup, have ‘crazy’ hair and be more flamboyant fashion-wise in general,” they said. “The idea of rockstar guys wearing makeup like ‘guyliner’ was definitely something that ultimately made me feel more comfortable wearing makeup myself as a gender fluid person (I wore super thick black eyeliner all throughout high school). For me, makeup is a big part of how I express myself and I love blending feminine and masculine elements together to create looks that draw on my favorite parts of each and everything between.”

In celebration of the video, Dorian Electra has announced their very own Guyliner product with part of the proceeds going towards the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This marks Dorian’s first launch into the beauty world and Guyliner can be purchased here now.

Dorian is set to play shows across North America, Australia and Europe in their biggest headlining tour to date, The Flamboyant Tour: Chapter II – Check out the tour dates after the cut here!

Dorian Electra Drops Debut Album 'Flamboyant' - Stream & Download Here!

Dorian Electra just dropped their debut album, Flamboyant!

The 11-track set is the debut, self-aware pop album co-written by Dorian Electra alongside the likes of Bonnie Mckee and Jesse Saint John (writer for Britney Spears, Kim Petras, etc.) and produced by a variety of collaborators.

“Each track on the album takes on a different masculine trope or character in order to explore the nuances of gender, power, politics, sex, music, and fashion all with a future-facing pop sound,” Dorian said in a statement. “Everything from instrument choice to aesthetics draws from the history of camp… while also being deeply personal and radically queer.”

Daddy is a state of mind,” Dorian said in a statement. “The song came about super organically at our album writing camp after Dylan Brady played me the instrumental and I was super into it and was like ‘Oooh… daddy like!’ and then we were like ‘whoa… that should totally be the name of the song!’”
