Henry Cavill‘s charm, chiseled good looks and acting chops have helped him build a career as a fan-favorite star in Hollywood.

He famously embodied Superman in the DC Universe and was even planning to reprise the role before some rebranding changed plans.

Outside of DC, Henry‘s known for project’s like Netflix’s The Withcer and so much more. He’s currently got his fans heading back into theaters to see him in action in his new movie Argylle.

Henry‘s hit it big and is beloved in the industry. But like any other actor, he’s been in the running for some major roles that he did not end up landing. We did some digging and found seven examples of A-list projects that Henry was attached to over the years.

Henry Cavill opened up about his James Bond audition during a recent interview.

If you were unaware, the 40-year-old Man of Steel actor was in the running to play the iconic spy in 2006′s Casino Royale. The role instead went to Daniel Craig, who brought 007 to life until 2021′s No Time to Die.

In fact, Henry made it so far into the audition process that he was the second choice.

While on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw with Argylle director Matthew Vaughn, Henry reflected on losing the role. He also learned a surprising way that his attempt helped him in the industry.

Henry Cavill and girlfriend Natalie Viscuso are enjoying some downtime together during the craziness of his Argylle press tour.

The 40-year-old actor was spotted leaving a dinner date with Natalie on Monday night (January 29) at Don Angie in the West Village neighborhood of New York City.

Earlier in the evening, Henry and the cast of Argylle stopped by a screening of the movie at the AMC Lincoln Square theater on the Upper West Side.

Henry is also pictured doing an interview at the SiriusXM Studios.

The cast is getting ready to celebrate Argylle‘s theatrical release on Friday and they were just in London last week for the world premiere event.

In Argylle, Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly Conway, who is “the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.”

The stars of the highly anticipated movie Argylle stepped out for the world premiere event in London!

Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, and more were on the red carpet at the premiere on Wednesday (January 24) at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, England.

Also in attendance were co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Rob Delaney, and Jing Lusi.

Director Matthew Vaughn was joined by wife Claudia Schiffer, who carried her cat Chip in a backpack. The cat stars in the movie as Alfie!

Henry brought his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso and John posed on the carpet with wife Shay Shariatzadeh.

Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard are promoting their new movie Argylle!

The two actors joined their adorable furry co-star Chip the Cat at the Argylle special experience hosted by Universal Pictures, Apple Original Films, and MARV on Monday (January 22) in London.

Director Matthew Vaughn was also in attendance.

In Argylle, Bryce plays Elly Conway, who is “the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. The stars of the upcoming spy movie Argylle stepped out for their first major red carpet premiere this week!

Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Sam Rockwell were on the red carpet at the film’s Seoul premiere on Thursday (January 18) in Seoul, South Korea.

Bryce wore two different looks on the red carpet that evening, changing from one into the other at one point during the night.

Henry was joined on the carpet by his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso, marking a rare public appearance for the couple. We previously saw them together at the season three premiere of The Witcher in June 2023.

For those who don’t know, Natalie is a studio executive and she recently teamed up with Henry for a new project. They’ve been dating for about three years now!
