Idina Menzel is heading on the road this summer for her Take Me Or Leave Me concert tour and she’s promising a “vintage set.”

The Tony Award-winning singer and actress named the tour after her smash hit song from the 1996 Broadway musical Rent.

“Maureen was always uninhibited and extremely comfortable in who she was, maybe to the fault [laughs],” Idina told Billboard. “I’ve always loved that song and I miss that character, but I would say I’m naming the tour this from a different perspective. Obviously, many, many years later, it’s about who I am in this point in my life. I haven’t seen my fans in a long time, and I want to show them how I’ve changed, and how I haven’t. I want to show them my experiences and hopefully, they’ll love me no matter what.”

Idina will be performing intimate shows across the country for a one-month span with stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, Pittsburgh, Chicago, New York, and more.

In a post on Instagram, Idina said she’ll be “doing a vintage set as well as lots of new material. Gonna keep it real.”

Idina Menzel is celebrating a full decade since her alternate personality was born!

If you don’t recall, John Travolta accidentally announced Idina as “Adele Dazeem” prior to her performance of “Let it Go” at the 2014 Oscars.

The flub has since become an iconic moment in pop culture history.

On the 10 year anniversary of Adele Dazeem’s inception, Idina shared a special message to social media.

Believe it or not, the original blockbuster premiered in theaters 10 years ago. In honor of the special anniversary, Vanity Fair got stars including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff together to look back on the start of the successful franchise.

In the process, we learned a lot about how the final movie we know and love differed from the original plot. It featured different actresses reading for Elsa and Anna (the characters played by Idina and Kristen) and a very different plot.

We also learned that Frozen was not the first Disney movie either Idina or Kristen auditioned for. Interestingly, they were both in the running for the same part in another hit from the House of Mouse.

At the end of the interview, the cast also reflected on John Travolta‘s now iconic flub at the Oscars when he introduced Idina as Adele Dazeem.

Can you believe it has been 20 years since Wicked premiered on Broadway?!

Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, the original stars of the show, reunited on the red carpet at the 20th anniversary performance on Monday night (October 30) at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City.

While the musical had its first preview performance on October 8, 2003, the official opening night show was held on October 30, 2003. The musical went on to win three Tony Awards, including Best Actress for Idina, and has since been seen by nearly 65 million people around the world.

Kristin and Idina gave a rare joint interview last week in which they responded to rumors that they feuded while playing Glinda and Elphaba on Broadway.

The Broadway musical Wicked is celebrating its 20th anniversary TODAY (October 30) and we decided to look back at 20 famous actors who appeared in the show after Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel opened the musical.

Wicked had its official opening night at the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway back on October 30, 2003.

In addition to Kristin and Idina, there were some recognizable faces in the original cast.

20 years later, Wicked has been performed in over 100 cities around the world and has grossed more than $5 billion in ticket sales. The musical is finally being made into a movie, which will be released in late 2024.
