Netflix Debuts Star-Studded Trailer for Ryan Murphy's 'The Prom' - Watch!

The Prom is coming!

The upcoming Ryan Murphy movie, which is heading to Netflix, debuted a trailer on Thursday (November 26).

The movie stars Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Keegan-Michael Key, Andrew Rannells, Jo Ellen Pellman, Ariana Debose, Tracey Ullman, Kevin Chamberlin, Mary Kay Place, Nico Greetham, Logan Riley, Nathaniel J. Potvin, Sofia Deler and Kerry Washington.

Here’s a plot summary: Dee Dee Allen (Streep) and Barry Glickman (Corden) are New York City stage stars with a crisis on their hands: their expensive new Broadway show is a major flop that has suddenly flatlined their careers. Meanwhile, in small-town Indiana, high school student Emma Nolan (Pellman) is experiencing a very different kind of heartbreak: despite the support of the high school principal (Key), the head of the PTA (Washington) has banned her from attending the prom with her girlfriend, Alyssa (DeBose). When Dee Dee and Barry decide that Emma’s predicament is the perfect cause to help resurrect their public images, they hit the road with Angie (Kidman) and Trent (Rannells), another pair of cynical actors looking for a professional lift. But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is.

The Prom is the film adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical, and hits select theaters in December and on Netflix on December 11.

James Corden Reveals He Was Afraid of Being Fired From 'Late Late Show'

James Corden is getting candid about his career.

The 42-year-old late night TV host revealed he was afraid of getting fired from The Late Late Show during an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday (October 9).

During his appearance, James talked about first getting the gig in 2015.

“When we moved here, my wife and I, we had two kids at that point, and I wouldn’t allow us to buy furniture. We rented all of our furniture,” he revealed.

“I said to my wife Julia, ‘I’m going to get fired, this won’t work. And as soon as we get fired, we’ll just want to get back to London, so we don’t want to be lumbered with a couch,’” he revealed, saying that lasted for about two years.

“Eventually my wife was like, ‘Please can we buy some furniture?’ And I was like, ‘OK, I think we are safe to buy furniture now.’ That’s been every day of my adult life, really. I’ve thought I’m going to get fired at some point.”

He adds that he believes it’s “quite a healthy point of view.”

“I think outside of even work, just in life, if you can constantly try to Google Earth yourself, realize where you are, realize what you are doing, fundamentally hang onto the very things that are important. Counting those blessings and checking your privilege and all those things I think are really useful and necessary things to do,” he said.

“I actually think that is one of the few positives you can take from coronavirus, is if you and I had talked a year ago I would say, ‘How are you doing?’ And you’d go, ‘I’m great, everything’s great.’ And I would go, ‘Same, everything’s fantastic.’ And actually there has been an amazing thing that has happened over these last past six, seven months where I will talk to friends of mine at home and I’ll go, ‘How are you doing?’ and they will go, ‘You know what? I am struggling to be honest. I’m struggling.’”

“…That’s a great thing, to be able to say, ‘This is how I feel.’ That’s a really lovely thing that I hope we don’t lose when we are on the other side of this,” he said.

He also recently addressed the rumor of replacing Ellen DeGeneres.

James Corden Finally Addresses Rumor That He's Replacing Ellen DeGeneres

James Corden is finally addressing the rumors that he was in talks to possibly replace Ellen DeGeneres amid her summer of controversy at her talk show.

“Genuinely, I have no idea where that even came from,” James said during his latest episode of The Late Late Show. “I think somebody started a rumor somewhere and someone jumped on the thing. There is absolutely no truth in that story at all. Zero. As far as considering it, I think it would be a really crazy thing to take over from someone who I think has done the job so outrageously well for, like, 18 years. It’s not true. And I think when the day comes to end this show, [it] will be the day to probably stop hosting a show every day. So, no I wouldn’t.”

A source later revealed that James was never actually in talks to replace Ellen, but four other stars were named as possible replacements instead,
