The current season of Saturday Night Live features a dramatically different cast them last after eight cast members exited the show between seasons.
Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang and Mikey Day are some of the few faces from last season that are still around.
They opened up about adjusting to the new cast, which includes Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker, during a recent interview.

Kenan Thompson revealed that the long-awaited sequel to the hit ’90s film, Good Burger, is definitely going to happen!
“We’re getting really close on Good Burger 2,” the 44-year-old comedian shared with ET. “It’s gonna happen, and I think it’s gonna happen soon. We’re gonna figure out when the pocket of time will be to shoot it, but it’s gonna happen.”
“It’s closer than it’s ever been,” Kenan added, “So, I don’t think anything is gonna derail it.”
“We had a reading, like a little private thing just to hear the script that we’ve been working on, out loud — just with a couple friends and a couple people from Paramount and Nickelodeon, and it was so funny,” the SNL alum said.
“Kel [Mitchell] has not missed a step,” Kenan said of his co-star. “It’s like old slippers, and that character is just ripe for jokes. We read like, over 100 pages and laughed the whole time. It was so much fun.”
“It’s on and crackin…that’s all I can say,” he concluded.
Last month, it was revealed that Kenan‘s ex, Christina Evangeline is currently dating one of his SNL co-stars Chris Reed.

Kenan Thompson hypes up the upcoming 2022 Emmys during a press preview event held at the Television Academy on Thursday (September 8) in Los Angeles.
The 44-year-old actor, who was announced as the host for the award show last month, opened up at the event about how he’ll be hosting the prestigious event.
“You know, I’m not going out there like hurting anybody’s feelings for the sake of other people laughing,” he said, via Deadline. “We’re supposed to all be laughing together, even that person the joke is about.”
He added, “This being a roasting opportunity kind of night, a lot of people expect to hear that. [My approach will be] more so about the zeitgeist about what’s going on, maybe like the jokes are about the shows or the different platforms. Because it’s bigger than a famous person who’s having a moment, because it’s a room full of famous people.”
Kenan addressed coming upon an Oscar Slap situation while hosting the show, as well.
