Miley Cyrus recently opened up about experimenting with drugs and drinking, and revealed she was doing that during an era the media deemed “pure.” Find out more about what she said!

Miley Cyrus Says She Was Experimenting With Drugs & Alcohol During 'Younger Now' Era

Miley Cyrus is on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone, out now.

Here’s what the 28-year-old Plastic Hearts singer had to say…

On always discrediting past versions of herself: “I discredited myself for what I had been almost every step of the way. During Dead Petz, discrediting Bangerz. During Bangerz, discrediting Hannah Montana. During “Malibu,” discrediting Bangerz. It’s almost like when I have evolved, I’ve then become shameful of who I was before. What makes you an adult, I think, is being OK with who you’ve been before.”

On experimenting with drugs and alcohol during Younger Now era: “A couple of years ago, it looked like I was living some fairy tale. It really wasn’t. At that time, my experimentation with drugs and booze and the circle of people around me was not fulfilling or sustainable or ever going to get me to my fullest potential and purpose…there’s an idea that during the Younger Now era, I was pure. The media likes to have my hair or what I look like be the point of reference for my sanity. ‘Hair’s long and blond, she’s sane right now. She cannot be f–ked up on drugs. It’s when her hair is painted or she’s growing out her armpit hair [that] she’s on drugs.’”

On how she wants to be remembered: “I have no idea how the f–k I’d want to be remembered. I’m a pretty wicked daughter. I think I’m f–king very dedicated to my family. I feel like I’ve fought for what I really wanted, whether that’s fighting for rights, or against injustices, working with Happy Hippie Foundation. I’d want that to be a priority. I’d want to have been a trailblazer, but I think it’s really hard talking about it because I’m still so here with so much left to do. I couldn’t really tell you how I’d want to be remembered because all the things that I’d hopefully be remembered for haven’t happened yet.”

She also confirmed this song’s lyrics are about ex, Liam Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus Confirms Which 'WTF Do I Know' Lyrics Are About Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus is opening up about her new music and how the song “WTF Do I Know” is about her split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

The 28-year-old singer is on the new episode of The Howard Stern Show and she was asked about some specific lyrics in the song.

“You want an apology? Not from me / I had to leave you in your own misery / So tell me, baby, am I wrong that I moved on? / And I, and I don’t even miss you,” Miley sings on the track.

Miley explained that when she writes her music, it’s sometimes about what she’s just feeling for a second.

“‘WTF Do I Know,’ it’s not that it’s how I feel every second of the day, it’s how I felt for a moment. That works as some sort of protective armor and there’s a sense of myself that does feel that way… a record is all of these mason jars filled with something that lights up, that you catch something that is magical for a moment, but it doesn’t have to be you all the time,” Miley said.

Miley said the “I don’t even miss you” lyric was indeed about Liam “in that minute.”

“Sometimes you miss people more than others, and sometimes, things get easier,” she said. “Time kind of heals all, but that was at a time where I felt really strong. And then some days I don’t.”

In the interview, Miley also opened up about what led to her split from Liam.

Here's How Liam Hemsworth Reportedly Feels About Miley Cyrus' Statements About Their Marriage

It has been over a year since Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus ended their marriage, and Miley just revealed some information about their time together.

In particular, Miley said “there was too much conflict…When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”

Now, a source is revealing that Liam is not upset or bothered by what Miley said, and he’s focused on his relationship with girlfriend Gabriella Brooks.

Liam Hemsworth isn’t upset by the recent interview Miley did where she says there was too much conflict in their marriage. Liam was very hurt when they initially broke up, but he has moved on now and is happy with Gabriella,” a source told ET. “He’s very traditional and Gabriella shares the same values as him and gets along with his family. Their relationship is easygoing and they have similar upbringings and backgrounds.”

Miley Cyrus Reveals There Was 'Too Much Conflict' in Liam Hemsworth Marriage, Says She'll Always Love Him

Miley Cyrus made an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM radio where she was asked about her marriage to Liam Hemsworth. The pair married in late 2018 but by mid 2019, their marriage was over.

First, Miley said that alcohol was not to blame for the end of her marriage. Miley recently spoke about her decision to go sober.

She spoke about the fires in California that burned her and Liam‘s house down and they “lost everything.”

“We were together since 16,” Miley said. “Our house burned down. We had been like, engaged—I don’t know if we really ever thought we were actually going to get married, but when we lost our house in Malibu—which if you listen to my voice pre- and post-fire, they’re very different so that trauma really affected my voice. And I was actually in South Africa, so I couldn’t come home, and like, my animals were tied to a post at the beach. I lost everything. I had polaroids of Elvis, like front row, passed on from—I got a couple grandmas to give me their Elvis polaroids. I always became friends with my friends’ grandmas so I could get the goods from the artists I love.”

“I had so much and it was all gone, every song I had ever written was in that house,” she added. “Every photograph of me that my parents had given to me, all my scripts, I lost everything. And so in trying to put that back together, instead of going, ‘Oh, nature kind of did something I couldn’t do for myself; it forced me to let go,’ I ran toward the fire. Which is not abnormal, a lot of animals do this and end up dying, like deers run into the forest. You’re attracted to that heat and me being an intense person and not wanting to sit with it, and not wanting to go, you know, ‘What could be purposeful about this?’ I just clung to what I had left of that house, which was me and him. And I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will.”

Miley added, “there was too much conflict….When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone,” she said. “I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”

Miley Cyrus Frustrated After Learning Her 'Plastic Hearts' Album Won't Be In Stores Until December

Miley Cyrus is in agreement with a lot of her fans, and frustrated with her label right now.

It turns out that physical copies of her newest album, Plastic Hearts, won’t be in stock at stores until December, which in turn, affects her first-week sales.

Miley stood behind her fans and their frustrations, and took to Instagram to show support.

“My fans are everything to me & to know y’all are disappointed when going out to stores/calling/checking stock to be let down I am equally/if not more frustrated,” she wrote before sharing a lot of screengrabs of fans’ disappointments.

Miley continued that when she was “choosing 11/27 THE SUGGESTED DATE for album release my team and I were never told major retailers don’t stock physical albums on Black Friday and won’t get copies of PH until a few weeks after release. The packaging of the record is intimate, honest, and a visual reflection of the sound of my new record that I am so proud of. It was created BY ME personally at home making art FOR YOU. I want it in your hands!”

While she didn’t put blame on her label, she does consider it “a waste of time & energy.”

“This album was a labor of love and nothing can sabotage my admiration for the record my collaborators & I have created,” Miley added.

Miley has said that the album was shaped by her divorce from Liam Hemsworth, which was finalized in early 2020, from the loss of her Malibu home in the California wildfires, and her struggles with addiction.

“I have the artist torture thing going on, too, where I’m a little conflict-seeking because it’s creative,” she told Apple Music. “I like to feel sad sometimes. And I like to feel happy. I really like to feel. It’s inspiring to me.”
