The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey has announced that his next movie will be Better Man, a biopic about singer Robbie Williams.

Deadline reports that the film will follow the singer’s “ascent, exploring the experiences that made him who he is, and the demons he battled both on and off the stage as he became a huge star on the back of hits like ‘Angels.’”

Michael will be directing and producing the film. He also co-wrote the script with first-time screenwriters Oliver Cole and Simon Gleeson.

In an interview with Deadline, Michael revealed that Robbie‘s music will be included in the film, but he wouldn’t confirm if the singer himself will appear in it.

“As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret,” Michael said. “I want to do this in a really original way. I remember going to the cinema as a kid and there were films that blew me away and made me say as I sat there in the cinema, ‘I’ve never seen this before.’ I just want the audience to have that feeling. It’s so important when they watch this story, and look at the screen, that they literally think, I’ve never seen this before. All I can say is the approach is top secret, but the goal is to generate that feeling I just described. It’s this fantastical story, and I want to represent it in its harsh reality all the way to these moments of pure fantasy.”

Michael also revealed that Robbie‘s music will be re-recorded for the movie and it will seemingly be performed by whoever is playing the role.

“All Robbie’s songs will be re-sung, for the emotion of the moment,” he said. “If in his life he’s in the depths of despair, he’s not going to sing a song as cabaret flamboyant showmanship; it’s going to be broken, acapella, stripped down, because that’s where he is emotionally. In moments of pure joy, you’ll get songs sung in this whirlwind of hysteria. So essentially every song in the film, Robbie will sing, but it will be performed for the emotion of that moment, and that scene.”

The producers will be looking for a studio to buy the movie at the upcoming European Film Market event.

Singer Robbie Williams revealed that he could have died from mercury and arsenic poisoning from eating too much fish.

“I was eating fish twice a day and I’ve got the highest mercury poisoning the doctor has ever seen,” he said (via the Daily Mail.)

“Do you know what I thought when I heard that? I’ve won!” he added. “That’s how my ego works! ‘I’ve got the highest… did you say the highest? Thank you. I literally won the mercury award!’”

“I got my mercury tested because my wife’s neurotic and she gets all sorts of tests all the time. Anyway, thank God!” he continued. “I could’ve dropped dead of mercury and arsenic poisoning. I went plant-based the next day!”

Robbie Williams claims that the Charlie’s Angels actress saved his relationship with now-wife Ayda Field Williams.

The 46-year-old “Angels” singer made the revelation during the most recent episode of the couple’s podcast, (Staying) At Home With The Williamses.

During the episode, Robbie explained that before marrying Ayda, he visited the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles while he and his now-wife were on a break.

“I’m floating around and we had split up and I was chatting away with people and I had started to chat with Drew [Barrymore] and Cameron,” he said.

“I started to espouse about this brilliant person that I had just ended a relationship with and there were all of these words coming out of my mouth about how incredible you were, how beautiful, smart, funny,” he went on to say.

“And Cameron Diaz said, ‘It doesn’t sound like that one’s over’ and in that moment the universe went, ‘Go to Ayda, be with her, marry her,’” he went on to say.

“Thank god for Cameron Diaz by the way. Next time I see Cameron Diaz I’m going to make out with her!” Ayda joked.

“Can you imagine if Cameron had never done that? Imagine if you had never had that conversation?”

The two went on to get married back in August of 2010.

Cameron recently revealed the reason why she quit acting.

The 46-year-old singer and his wife, 40, have welcomed their fourth child via surrogate, a son named Beau Benedict Enthoven Williams, they announced on Instagram on Friday (February 14).

Ayda Field posted a sweet photo of Beau with their other kids – Theodora “Teddy”, 7, Charlton “Charlie”, 5, and Colette “Coco”, 1 – captioning it, “‘Spot the difference…’ On this Valentine’s Day, we would like to celebrate love in the most awesome way… Beau Benedict Enthoven Williams.”

“As with Coco, he is biologically ours, but born via our same incredible surrogate,” she added. “We are so blessed to have our healthy son safely in our arms and are officially complete as a family ❤️❤️❤️ #happyvalentinesday #surprise #familyof6 #whodathunkitinthe90s … The Williams Family xx.”
