With her new movie Challengers, Zendaya is fulfilling the Spider-Man to tennis movie pipeline, set forth by past Spider-Man love interests!

The 27-year-old actress is the third in line of the female love interest from Spider-Man movies, following Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone.

Following their time in the web-slinging movies, they have all gone on to star in tennis-themed movies.

Kirsten starred in Wimbledon, Emma in Battle of the Sexes and now Zendaya in Challengers.

During a recent interview promoting her new movie, Zendaya reacted to her now fulfilling the “prophecy.”

It’s been two and a half years since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the movie continues to be one of the most successful films of all time. The film is currently the third highest-grossing movie of all time with a domestic total of $814 million and it’s safe to say that the lead actors took home a lot of money for the film!

The movie originally earned $804 million during its initial theatrical run and then grossed another $10 million during its re-release in September 2022.

We did a little research and found out how much money Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire reportedly earned for their work in each of their movies.

Tobey played Spider-Man in the first three movies, Andrew played the role in two films, and Tom has now appeared in three standalone Spider-Man movies, in addition to several MCU films.

Rumors are going around that Tobey Maguire could be suiting back up in red and blue for another Spider-Man movie with director Sam Raimi!

The 48-year-old actor and the director worked together on the first trilogy in the early 2000s, and Tobey reprised his Peter Parker in 2021′s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

If you didn’t know, there were plans for a fourth movie years ago, but those fell through.

From the Tobey Maguire-fronted am Raimi films, to the Andrew Garfield-led Marc Webb movies, to the most recently Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland, plus the voice of Shameik Moore leading Into the Spider-Verse, the franchise has largely been a critical and commercial success.

Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland have all swung into action as Spider-Man, one of Marvel‘s most beloved young heroes, on the big screen in the last three decades.

Each actor was perfectly cast as the earnest but innocent web-slinger. However, they each faced off against a group of very talented actors to land the role.

In fact, many of Hollywood’s biggest stars across multiple generations have been tied to Spider-Man. The majority of them competed with Tobey, Andrew and Tom for the part. However, others were up for totally different movies that never got made. Interestingly, some of the celebs even went on to land different roles in the franchise!
