Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey have inked a first-look deal with HBO.

The 54-year-old Avengers: Endgame actor and his producing partner, 46, will set their sights on TV, THR reports.

The two have signed a one-year deal, allowing them to create and develop new projects with the premium cable network.

Their Team Downey production company will release the crime/drama series Perry Mason, starring Matthew Rhys, later this year. Inspired by the Erle Stanley Gardner character, the show starts before “he’s the crusading defense attorney known from the 1957-66 CBS drama that starred Raymond Burr. [The new series] sees Mason as a low-rent private investigator haunted by his wartime experience in France and suffering from a broken marriage.”

“HBO provided a happy home for Perry Mason,” the Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey said in a statement. “We’re excited to roll up our sleeves, expand the partnership, and tell stories that meet the standard their brand has come to represent.”

Team Downey’s other credits include the Sherlock Holmes franchise, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Judge, Dolittle, and YouTube docuseries The Age of A.I..

The guys were joined at the event by their co-stars Selena Gomez, Michael Sheen, John Cena, Harry Collett, and Carmel Laniado, as well as writer and director Stephen Gaghan.

Also in attendance at the event were Robert‘s wife and producer Susan Downey, Michael‘s partner Anna Lundberg, and John‘s girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh.

Robert, Michael, Harry, and Carmel are all live-action stars in the film while Selena, John, and Rami voice animals. Dolittle hits theaters on January 17!

Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow reunite at the Avengers: Endgame world premiere!

The Iron Man co-stars, ages 54 and 46, respectively, hit the purple carpet at the event held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Monday (April 22) in Los Angeles.

They were joined by their other Iron Man and Avengers: Endgame co-stars Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau. Jon is also the executive producer of both films and the director of Iron Man.

Robert looked dapper in a dazzling suit with a yellow collar and yellow-tinted sunglasses, while Gwyneth rocked an oversized suit jacket with a black scarf and heels.

Robert was also joined by his wife Susan Downey, and Don by his partner Bridgid Coulter.

It was a star-studded wedding for Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk this weekend!

If you don’t know, the Hollywood couple got married on Saturday (September 29) at Jerry Seinfeld‘s massive East Hamptons estate in the posh New York area.

Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden were photographed leaving the venue, as well as Robert Downey Jr. with his wife Susan and Rob Lowe.

The cast of the Avengers had a rehearsal this weekend for their special benefit reading of Our Town!

Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr (with his wife Susan), and Frank Grillo were all photographed leaving the Fox Theatre on Sunday (November 5) in Atlanta, Ga. Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner also have roles in the reading.

The benefit reading of the Thornton Wilder play will take place tonight (November 6) and proceeds are set to benefit hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, this is a one night only event, and it’s unclear if there will be any recorded version. Stay tuned!More Here! »

Alec Baldwin was also in attendance at the screening of the new documentary, where they met up with the film’s crew.
