Tony Bennett has sadly passed away.
On Friday morning (July 21), the legendary pop, jazz, and big-band vocalist died at the age of 96, just two weeks shy of his August 3 birthday.
Tony‘s longtime publicist Sylvia Weiner confirmed his death to The Associated Press, revealing that he had passed away in his hometown of New York City.

Lady Gaga has made Oscars history!
On Tuesday (January 24), The Academy announced their nominations for the 2023 Oscars, and the 36-year-old entertainer earned a nomination in the Best Original Song category for her song “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick.
Gaga is now the first artist to receive three nominations in the category. She was first nominated in 2016 for “Til It Happens to You” then again in 2019 for “Shallow,” which she won.
After the nominations were announced, Gaga‘s longtime friend and frequent collaborator Tony Bennett congratulated her for making history.

Tony Bennett is enjoying the sunny weather.
The 95-year-old retired jazz legend was pushed around in a wheelchair by his caregiver during a rare day out on Thursday (July 7) in New York City.

Tony appeared in good spirits and was spotted waving at fans as he and his caregiver headed towards Central Park.
If you don’t know, Tony and his family revealed he is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. He was diagnosed in 2016 and revealed his diagnosis in early 2021.
Tony officially retired from performing after he and longtime friend and collaborator Lady Gaga performed two final shows in an event titled One Last Time: an Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga in New York City last summer.
There were a bunch of celebs who were nominated for awards at the 2022 Grammys who did not attend the event.
The annual awards show took place on Sunday (April 3) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The show was originally scheduled to take place on January 31 in Los Angeles, but it was pushed back due to a surge in COVID cases at the time. Because the venue in L.A. was already booked, the show was moved to Las Vegas for the first time ever.

The 67-year-old son of the 95-year-old crooner accepted the award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for the collaboration album at the 2022 Grammy Awards on Sunday (April 3) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
