For the first time since the 1973 film, Ellen Burstyn is reprising her iconic role as Chris MacNeil in the latest installment of the horror movie franchise, which will be hitting theaters this fall.
The 50-year-old filmmaker debuted the first trailer for his new movie Old during the 2021 Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7).
Here’s the synopsis: “Old centers on a group of people who find a dead body on a beach and slowly realize there is something unnatural happening,” according to Variety.
M. Night Shyamalan is best known for directing movies like Split, Glass, and The Sixth Sense. He also serves as executive producer on the Apple TV+ series Servant.
Old is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 23.
Here is the synopsis: Four moms, whose only common ground is their kids’ preschool class, decide to get together for a harmless “fun mom dinner.” The night begins as a disaster, but the combination of alcohol, karaoke, and a cute bartender, leads to an unforgettable night where these seemingly different women realize they have more in common than motherhood and men.
