Mandy Moore is opening up about Broadway ambitions, and the role she didn’t accept.
The 39-year-old This Is Us star made an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast.
Durin their conversation, Mandy revealed that she has received offers to come to Broadway, but it hasn’t panned out.

The filmed version of Broadway’s Waitress: The Musical was a surprise hit at the box office this past weekend and now the movie will stay in theaters longer than expected!
Sara Bareilles leads the cast of the musical, which she wrote for the stage. The show opened on Broadway back in 2016 and closed in January 2020. The musical returned to Broadway for a limited engagement in late 2021, which is when the show was filmed for theatrical release.
Bleecker Street Pictures and Fathom Events teamed up for the theatrical release and the original plan was for the film to be in theaters for just 5 days.
In the first four days of release, the movie has grossed $3.5 million at the box office.

It was a big night of celebration for Sara Bareilles at the premiere of the Waitress the Musical pro-shot!
The 43-year-old actress and singer was joined by her fiancee, and co-star, Joe Tippett at the event during the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival on Monday night (June 12) in New York City.
Sara and Joe made it a double date with their longtime friend Josh Groban and his girlfriend Natalie McQueen. Also in attendance were Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita.
For those who don’t know, Sara wrote the music for Waitress and later joined the cast on Broadway. When Broadway returned after the 18-month shutdown during the pandemic, Waitress came back to the stage with Sara in the lead role and they filmed the show for the pro-shot recording!
It has not yet been announced where Waitress will stream, but we can’t wait to find out!
Kelly Clarkson is performing a major Broadway song for her new episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show!
The 39-year-old singer belted out the song “She Used to Be Mine” from the musical Waitress for the episode that airs on Friday (January 7).
Kelly explained that she decided to sing the song after she received a request from Waitress‘ social media team to perform the tune before the show closes on Broadway. Originally, the show was scheduled to close on January 9, but it was forced to end its run early due to the pandemic.
The episode was filmed before the abrupt closing and Kelly interviewed the show’s final Jenna, Ciara Renee, about heading into closing weekend. Unfortunately, the show won’t get an official closing weekend.

Sara Bareilles has written an emotional goodbye to her Broadway musical Waitress after it abruptly closed without the cast getting to have a final performance.
The musical was scheduled to run until January 9, but it was announced tonight that the show played its final performance December 22. After the cancellation of the December 23 performance, it was decided that the show could not continue running due to positive cases of COVID detected in the company and crew.
The show’s final cast was led by Broadway veterans Ciara Renee and Joshua Henry.

More bad news for Broadway.
The musical Waitress, featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, has announced an abrupt closing notice amid the surge of the Omicron variant in New York City.
This is the second show to announce an abrupt closing due to the variant.
“We are heartbroken to announce that Waitress on Broadway will be closing effective immediately,” the show’s social media team announced on Thursday evening (December 23) in a series of tweets.

Jennifer Nettles treated her biggest fan to an incredible surprise this week!
The Sugarland singer and current star of Broadway’s Waitress showed up at her fan Lizzie‘s workplace to meet them in person for the first time.
“I love a good SURPRISE! Lizzie, after hearing such incredible things about you, I’m thrilled I finally got to meet you! Your reaction was unforgettable (as was your infectious smile)!! Thank you for all your love and support, and I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for you in the crowd 🥰,” Jennifer wrote on Instagram along with the video.
Jennifer showed up at the Drama Book Shop in New York City, where Lizzie works, to give them a signed Waitress playbill and take some cute photos.
“jennifer 🥰🥰🥰 i will hold this so close to my heart forever, thank you for sharing this joy with me and for sharing your sunshine every single day,” Lizzie commented on the video.
