Back to the Future: The Musical is currently the hottest new show playing on London’s West End and it was just announced that the musical is coming to Broadway next year!
Olly Dobson is the Olivier Award-nominated actor who is leading the West End production as Marty McFly and we caught up with him to learn some fun facts that fans likely don’t already know about him.
This is Olly‘s biggest role yet after previously appearing in musicals like Bat Out of Hell, Matilda, and Carrie in London. No word yet on whether he’ll be reprising his role on Broadway, but we hope he will!
Check out the 10 Fun Facts below:
- When I was 11 I discovered I was allergic to peacock feathers in art class. We were drawing them and my friend kept brushing them on my face! Next thing you know my eyes were like balloons.
- I love cartoons. I draw a tonne of inspiration from loads of different shows. The Simpsons are my favorite and I still have every single box set at home.
- I’m a massive Chelsea Football fan and remember my first game (we drew 1-1 vs Aston Villa) and my latest (lost to Barca* in the Champions League semi-final) *We were robbed and everyone knows it.
- I love playing video games. Crash Bandicoot started this journey. My console journey is PS1, PS2, XBOX360, PS4 then PS5. If you know, you know!
- Red Hot Chili Peppers are the best. Blood Sugar Sex Magik was one of the first albums I remember listening to over and over and over. I’m pretty sure I know every lyric to every song.
