“Now THIS is how you shoot your shot! Zero F***!” he originally wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.

“Hello all. I apologize about my tweet earlier. In no way do I condone any such behavior. It was intended to point out the absurdity of the act itself. Complete and biting sarcasm. I realized quickly that it was not taken as such,” he reportedly wrote, adding “I was at an event all day. Sorry for the delay.” Those tweets have also been deleted.

Ariana has not yet commented on the situation.

Mike Colter Opens Up About 'Luke Cage' in Donald Trump's America

Mike Colter stars in a feature for Esquire.com, out now.

Here’s what the 41-year-old Luke Cage star had to say…

On his dad: “My dad was born in 1939 on what was a plantation, sort of like a sharecropping situation. And then, when he married my mom, they moved away from that. This was in South Carolina, so this is a weird thing because, for him, he just felt like all the stuff he achieved was more than he expected to achieve.”

On one thing his dad always told him: “Make sure you marry a woman who’s smarter than you are.”

On a Trump reference from Season Two that Colter interprets as a warning of things to come: “It’s calling attention to leadership—misguided leadership, leadership that’s no longer humble, that doesn’t listen to the people. We put in a person who doesn’t care about what people think. It’s become a scary notion that there’s someone in charge who doesn’t care what you think anymore, who doesn’t care about offending his constituents, offending the people that he’s supposed to serve.”

On the stakes being even higher for Luke Cage in Trump’s America: “I think every person who’s not a white male in this country feels a little vulnerable right now.”

'Luke Cage's Mike Colter On Season 2: 'The Stakes Have Risen'

Mike Colter poses alongside his co-stars Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi and Mustafa Shakir while visiting the Build series to discuss their hit Netflix series Luke Cage at the Build Studio on Wednesday (June 20) in New York City.

“This season, the stakes have risen because Luke’s expected to be a leader in a community that has a lot of problems,” series lead Mike told Variety.

“In his way are people who think they should be able to rule Harlem as a queen, as Mariah [Dillard] would call it, whereas Luke looks at that more as a dictatorship. He sees Harlem as a democracy,” Luke continued. “It’s a completely different way of doing things, so that’s going to come to a head.”

The latest season of the series is set to premiere globally on Netflix on June 22 – Watch the final trailer here!
